I traveled to shanghai at the beginning of this month, and i did stay at different properties in shanghai. Among those i strongly recommend HI Pudong best, whether you book it paying money or even with points(only 10k for 1 night)
The location is good. About 5 minutes walk away from subway line 4, and many taxis await for guests even in midnight 12p.m. Plus if you come to shanghai landing at Pudong Int'l Airport(PVG, which i think most people here will arrive in shanghai from Pudong not Hongqiao), you can take the fantastic Meglev to the end at Longyang Road ,and then take a cab directly to Hotel in maybe 15 rmb or 20
But you are advised to take the location map card from hotel to tell the driver where you live.
The property has recently been renovated. The awesome executive lounge is located at 5/F, good food and beverage, and seems that the department manager of F& B often stay at the executive lounge, supervising their service. Every staff in executive lounge is really friendly and can remember my surname(i'm chinese) each time i come.
The price is so-so, to be frankly, not cheap considering the brand HI and its marketing.about 1k rmb in July for Best flexible rate, you may even thinking about going to IC Pudong which is quite near here for such amazing high rate.
You probably know hotel in shanghai ain't cheap. While i think 10k points for a night definitely worth a try , or 5k points + 30 dollars
ah, no free broadband is no good. I'm Plat and upgraded to club level, still no free broadband.
