Looks like the only WP route left to Hilo is OGG-ITO and WP, according to this website, ceases that route on August 17th. Does this mean WP is done with ITO for the time being or is this a seasonal thing?
Out of curiosity, who handles the ground ops for WP at ITO? Is it Aloha contract services or does WP have their own employees there?

To our valued customers:
Due to economic conditions and their effects on passenger loads, it was with great difficulty that we have decided to discontinue scheduled service between Hilo, Hawai’i and Kahului, Maui effective August 17, 2009. In preparation for the off-peak period we needed to concentrate our limited resources on protecting our primary destinations. Mahalo for your loyalty over the past five years. Our hope is to restore this route in the future for the communities that are affected. As an alternative, Island Air will be continuing service between Kona, Hawai’i and Kahului, Maui to preserve a link between the two islands. We are very sorry for the inconvenience.
Regretfully Yours,
The Island Air Ohana

That's too bad :(
Pacific Wings (which also did ITO-OGG) quietly pulled out a few years ago.
That evening ITO-OGG route was very handy for connecting to UA redeyes ex-OGG, which, for some odd reason, often were substantially cheaper to many mainland cities than ex-HNL or ex-KOA.

Oh, no. I don't believe this. Why Island Air has cease oeprations due to economic situations. So hopefully in year of 2010 will able bring it back more recoveries to be reinstates service intra-island flights. It's should have more improves the economy. So unfortunately for Island Air will be temporarily discontinuing service for approximately 1 year later.
