BostonPaul Jul 17, 09, 8:58 pm Not exactly the Mandarin Oriental, but I just stayed three nights at the brand-new Four Points Sheraton at 40th & 8th/9th for $115/nt. IMO rooms were nicer than the rooms at the Sheraton's. Unfortunately for Sept dates we are interested the rate is up to $295, plus tax: ai: $341 travelmad478 Jul 21, 09, 11:50 am Hotel rates in NY typically jump up substantially in September, when business travel picks up a lot. I'm always there during the first half of the month, and the city is always jam-packed--major business conferences, the US Open, UN meetings, etc. It is hard to find anything at a decent price in September unless you get a conference rate. best Aug 1, 09, 7:21 pm Travelmad: thank you. When, after September , do they seem to be coming down from the high rates? WalruSara Aug 1, 09, 11:22 pm Travelmad: thank you. When, after September , do they seem to be coming down from the high rates? September - December is high season in NYC with the business travel, better weather, and of course, the holidays. There are usually great deals to be snagged in January and February during the post-holiday lull. |
