Travel Photography - Anybody toss their camera?

If you are gutsy or a good catcher or just have a ton of money to spare to replace broken equipment, you may want to try your hand at camera toss photography (http://networkedblogs.com/p7563561?ref=mf).

Myself, my heart jumped the first time I watched him throw it. Not for me!

I do not think I would ever even consider this with my camera. However, if somebody wants to donate me his/her camera, I would be eager to try it. :)

I do think it's crazy, though.

I have the required equipment to do this trick, just lack of the required skills to pull this off. :p I can imagine the EF 15mm fisheye can cut open my hand pretty badly if I didn't catch it correctly.

This is why Home Depot rents cherry pickers. I've always wanted an excuse to get one for the day :D

In my recent visit to TYO, I came aross a number of shock-proof cameras. While they seemed engineered to offer protection for a fall of only 1.5m or so, I guess they would be fine falling from 3 metres to softish soil...

I think that's cool but there's no way I'll ever do it! Any camera that's good enough to pop a good shot like this is way to expensive to risk dropping IMHO.

More than the camera is worth probably. Ever tempted to toss your best bottle of Malbec Gaucho100K?.......That would get punters flocking to your shop. :D

I remember when my son was just a couple months old. He really loved to get tossed over my head.

I could toss my son. But I don't think I can toss my camera. I don't know why.:rolleyes:
