It's been a while since I've been an FPC member and can't quite remember when I started receiving FPC benefits.

I'm trying to book a stay for my parents at a Fairmont property, and neither are FPC members. I'd like them to be able to make use of some of the FPC benefits during their stay. If I make an account for them, do their benefits become active once they register, or, do they have to have one stay at a Fairmont property before they are entitled to the benefits?

On the website, it states: "Club membership: complimentary. In-hotel benefits are provided on your next stay following enrollment."

Are you enrolled as soon as you register, or do you need one stay to be "enrolled"?

Thanks.

My experience: you enrol, you get a FPC number, you set up your account and make a reservation with that number. You're all set. You never need the physical card. So, yes, you'll get the benefits of a regular FPC member (free internet, separate check-in line -- those are about the only really tangible things, right?) on the stay.

That's my experience, but others may know more.

Cheers,

At least from my recent experience (end of June 2009) you are enrolled immediately. I signed up for FPC before booking (had never stayed at a Fairmont property before) and then made all reservations through my profile (to make sure the reservation would be connected to my FPC profile).

Received all benefits (especially appreciated complimentary internet access, free local phone calls and free daily newspapers) during my first stay (at Jasper Park Lodge).

Thanks for the quick replies. I quite appreciate it and will let you know how it works out.

The Taylor Made golf club rentals will be the big thing for them.

just sign up before making the reservation. when you make the reservation you can quote the FPC number and then request the golf clubs.

have fun!
