Didn't see anyone mention this but it's exciting news, National can be accessed from your blackberry/smartphone. The address is nationalcar.mobi and you can try it from your computer too. Not as gr8 as the main site (that you can log into and see rental credits and rental history...) but it gets the job done when you want to make a last minute reservation or plans change and now you don't have to call. Nice. Pretty happy about it.

Thanks for drawing ou attention to this.

I don't happen to think that searching for a reservation by confirmation number is the most friendly method but this is much better than nothing.

Thanks for the heads up, worked well on my iPhone: loads quickly, nice and clean.

I agree w/ 3Cforme, I don't keep the confirmation #'s handy. Would be nice if it listed your itineraries.

It's a start, though, and definitely better than the html alternative.

Thanks for the post. Didn't think of doing this as the EE phone line has been very helpful to me. I have my emails on the mobile so getting the reservation number is not that bad. It's a great start regardless!

Do you mind explaining what benefits you get from the EE phone line? I'm EE and I think I've only ever called it once due to a mix-up over rental credits. What do you use it for?

And thanks for letting us know about the site!

I call them to change/update/book my reservations on the go. Sometimes I find it easier to call them about complicated reservations. Sometimes they can tell me what sort of inventory a location may have available that I may not see on the web. YMMV but it has been good for me so far.

Ok, thanks. Good to know.

One thing impressive about National is how fast they send out the email when you return a car. I have received the receipt on my blackberry as I am walking to the terminal after dropping off my car.

Generally speaking the only time I am in contact with a National employee is at the gate as I am leaving, and when I am returning the car. However it is nice to know they have a mobile phone friendly site.

Another good feature of the mobile website is that it works even when the regular website is down, like right now for instance. Made my res. using my phone, after seeing that prices dropped in the weekly e-mail.

Anybody else notice it doesn't work for Canada? It couldn't find "Toronto" and then when I chose from a list of locations it was only US states. Seems kind of bizarre that they would restrict it like that.
