taking reservations from aug 10

$250 - studio 400ft2
$300 - suite 700ft2 ($400)
x - suite 2 825ft2
$600 - loft 1200ft2 ($800)
$800 - 1BR penthouse 1600ft2 ($1200) ($1000)
$1200 - 2BR penthouse 2000ft2 ($1600) ($1400)

lofts/penthouses have additional room amenities. penthouses have largest TVs.

upper categories arent always increased on weekends. lower categories fluctuating more is something im seeing at citycenter too.

skylofts >
$510 - 1BR 1400ft2
$700 - 2BR 3000ft2
$2000 - 3BR 6000ft2
(not including 15% virtuoso/FHR discount)

good news. either hotel 32 rates will drop through the floor, or skylofts rates will go up, and hopefully situation there will improve.

editing to reflect price drops when i noticed them.

"thePENTS - 1 Bedroom Suite"

The hotel may want to look at how that shows up on their website with all that red background - or maybe it's just my old eyes...I thought "they're calling their 1 bedroom suite the "WHAT"?? :o

This is the floor that burned because of the flammable facade material that caught fire?

Maybe it is just me but not matter how they dress up the room, you are still at the Monte Carlo

I think Hotel 32 needs to work on their website to give us way more concrete information as to what potential guests will be getting for booking there. Sure, there is a press release but that is not a good substitute for actually marketing what they have to offer and the added bonuses for staying there. The SkyLofts website does a good job of showing the value added of staying there..... not so, the Hotel 32.

That was EXACTLY my thought. I'll wait for the first trip review.

This is my big fear about SkyLofts being disappointing. They look fantastic and people who've been there love it, and the service seems great, but the common areas of MGMGrand just don't compare to the Bellagio or Wynncore.

now is the time to try skylofts if you are price conscious, even if theyre not doing well, because MGM clearly wants to raise prices through the roof.

now is not the time to try hotel 32, because the prices seem ridiculous.

will also be interesting to see if any new MGM offerings do amex FHR/villa partnerships like skylofts and mansion. (or virtuoso)

briankoenig, re public spaces, some skylofts guests have reported having breakfast in mansion.

personally, im looking forward to seeing what happens with skylofts after citycenter opens, and the opening of harmon.

re wynncore, maybe that asian IPO means theyre looking at golf course development while construction is cheap. hope they do something small thats even more perfect than encore macau.

The promotion I mentioned in this post (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/12156165-post106.html) has a Monte Carlo option involving comp nights in a "Spacious Suite" (I love the caps). I doubt this includes Hotel 32, but if it does, I might try it out.

I stayed at Hotel32 this week for 2 days, and Data hit the nail on the head.

First, let me say that the staff is very nice and earnest in their efforts. It is borderline hilarious how fast they try to get you from your limo, through the lobby and up to your room, so you have minimal time to look around and see that you're still really at the Monte Carlo.

The rooms are nice (a little on the grooovey 70's side of decor), but not worth the price of a suite. I'd much rather stay at Wynncore, Skyloft or Bellagio.

But the bottom line is that when you come downstairs to gamble or go outside, it's...still.the.Monte.Carlo.:o

They've attempted to upgrade their high stakes gaming area, but it's not enough. The pool area is still ghetto and the spa third rate.

Even if you overlook those facts, when you get in the elevator to go up to your room, it's filled with people toting their bags of McDonalds back to their room (and the accompanying aroma of big mac and fries) - and any bloom that was on the rose is gone.

The MC gets an "A" for effort, but if it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and smells like a Big Mac...just sayin'...:td:

Belated welcome to FT!

Any pics of the room?

And for the price they're asking, they should've locked down one elevator as Hotel32 only and paid a doorman to stand there checking room keys and looking stylish.

Thanks for the report, Minki..... I think I will pass on Hotel32 until, or if, things improve...... at least at the SkyLofts there are dedicated elevators just for the SkyLofts

I had just about this same experience at Palms Place last week. Despite having a beautiful 1-BR with a killer strip view, comped cabana, etc, my friends strongly preferred the other half of our stay in a regular suite at Encore. They did not like the more downscale crowd at the Palms despite the fact that we are all young men who like to party. I guess such is the risk in chasing the upscale customers. I wonder if the Hard Rock will have the same problem with their new towers.

funny since encore is cheaper. i talked to a guy just the other day, who had no interest whatsoever in staying at encore. (guy on the street type)
