I have to drive from SMF to SF this week and wanted to do a quick stop at a winery. Is there a winery that is somewhere along the way or will I have to head down to Napa.

If the latter, can someone recommend a good winery that won't send me too farout of my way? Thanks.

Some of the wineries in the Suisun Valley (http://suisunvalley.com/)are not too far off I-80.

There's also a winery out in American Canyon 4 miles north of Marine World Parkway in Vallejo:

If you decided to swing south on I-5 and go over Altamont Pass on I-580, there are a number of lovely wineries in the Livermore Valley, including Wente (http://www.wentevineyards.com/), White Crane (http://www.whitecranewinery.com/), Concannon (http://www.concannonvineyard.com), and Chouinard (http://www.chouinard.com)....

Or check out the Livermore Valley Wine Grower's webpage (http://www.lvwine.org/)...
