One of the HGI (Phoenix/North at Happy Valley) is pricing at $52 per night for some nights. It's within a mile of the brand new Wet N Wild Phoenix waterpark. In the same area, there is a brand new Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites, pricing at under $70 per night on most nights.
Phoenix Hilton family hotels have some excellent rates as well. The two Pointe resorts are pricing as low as $79 per night and have great lazy rivers
Yes times are good for Phoenix Area Hilton fans. I'm staying at the Scottsdale Hilton Resort next week for $52. Can't wait to sip drinks by the pools and see if my patented "hey, want to see my HHonors Gold Card?" pick up lines work ;)
In the Phoenix area the middle of the Summer rates are usually "reasonable."

Generally, yes, but they had slowly been creeping up over the past few years! This year has been extremely good -- particularly for Hilton HHonors fans!

Where did you book this -- travel site or directly with hotel? I'm traveling in october and finding there aren't a lot of great deals. :(

I booked this on Hilton.com back in July. Unfortunately, you're coming in October which is when the Arizona busy season starts again. I highly doubt you will find any deal even close to this. Enjoy your trip here though.

I suspect that, unless the economy picks up very quickly, there will be deals to be had in October. You maywant to book the higher rates now to lock them in. Then, I would keep checking every couple of days. I've already seen some of the summer-like specials be extended to the end of September (albeit at slightly higher rates -- i.e. $20-$30 per night higher).

Got the 4 points North Phoenix for $54 a.i. for this Saturday night. A lot of availability. Combine this with the 500 CCC booking bonus, the 1000 point promotion per stay as well as the double stay/nights promotion this will net anyone GREAT value for those SPG folks.

Yup, just stayed here a few nights ago and for $48 plus tax it's not bad at all. They offered two free drink coupons for use at the bar (included tax and gratuity), a coupon for free buffet breakfast, and there were some specials on Friday night at the bar. Only downside was no upgrade and an odd smelling room with poor A/C.
Not sure how nice of an area Metrocenter is, but there are a ton of shops, restaurants, etc. in the immediate vicinity as well as a movie theater. For those with a car there's a phenomenal Thai restaurant called Wild Thaiger about 10 miles south east (very near I-10 in central Phoenix).
Closer to the 4P is a Culvers (immediately next door - great cheeseburgers), a Fatburger, Chipotle, Starbucks, a pizza joint, and some other stuff.
I plan on a few more stays here before the end of the year... :p

Wow - an amazing deal. I'll be sending this info to relatives needing a place to stay over Christmas. And during the Phoenix Open? I might book a room for myself! :)
