American Express Membership Rewards - What are my chances of getting approved for the Amex Card?

So just curious, what are my chances of getting approved for the Delta Amex card?
I recently was approved for the amex green rewards card.
My credit score is over 705 but under 720.
Would be nice to know if you are comfortable sharing what your credit scores were when approved even if its a ball park figure. I don't want to apply and get denied and take a hit on my credit score.

Then don't apply!

This would be very difficult to answer for most. The credit approval criteria has changed vastly over the years. You may have been able to obtain a card with a 620 three years ago, however now the lowest most banks will consider is a 680. The preferred score is now close to 720. However, there are variables which may help you open an account. Having an existing relationship helps. With a 710ish, I think you will be good.

When you say green, you mean the charge card with no preset spending limit? If that's the case, I'd say your approval is virtually guaranteed UNLESS you have high balances on other revolving credit accounts.

Yeah it's the charge card with no spending limit, but I was just approved for it a week ago. I accidently applied for the wrong card.
Wanted to apply for the Delta Plat, But I had multiple tabs in FireFOx open and filled out the wrong app.
I am worried it may be too soon to apply for the delta card I may wait a few months after I build a trust worthy relationship with Amex.

You should apply NOW, before the first amex card shows up on your credit report. The DL card and Amex Green card are two different amex arms, one is a credit card, the other a charge card, so if you want it, apply now.

You will probably be approved with a 2-K limit. If you are late one time that will go down to 1-K. Late again within 12 months they will freeze the account. Late is one day. TARP and the economy is making it difficult unless you are around 730+

It already hit my credit report, I checked it two days ago when I realized I applied for the wrong card. (which was just 3 days after I actually Applied)
@tvnwz my ontime payment history is 100% according to creditkarma.com (good place to check your score and how it compares to others free service)
I will admit when I was younger I let a girl who I really like use my cards and that fudged up my credit back then but 10 years later all things are in order.

why not call them and ask if you can switch from the green to DL Platinum?

I just got approved today with scores ~750. I thought I wouldn't get approved since I already have two other Amex cards (Starwood/Blue) and a green corporate card (due to be canceled, company is switching to Visa). The 35k offer was too good to pass up.

Speaking candidly (and IMHO) and not to dismiss the OP's question, whether or not to apply for a credit card of any kind (regardless if it's Delta branded or not) doesn't seem appropriate for this forum.
It's based on numerous factors that are between the OP and the creditor. Unless the OP is willing to provide a full credit report and complete financial disclosure in this forum for financial experts (self-described) to analyze and offer a professional, albeit anonymous, opinion (which I highly do NOT recommend), then this is simply guesswork by all.
Again, I'm not being dismissive, just recommending that we not weigh in on something that has so many unknowns and so many variables that ultimately may have consequences for the OP (per his original post).

Although the OP is asking about the DL Amex Platinum CC this really is not a DL subject. Therefore I am moving this discussion over to the AMEX board.
