Asiana Club - Automatic status recognition for elite Diamond Club member on other Star carriers?

My wife does not fly enough to make *G on any other carrier so she (me that is in this case) decided to join OZ. She has now made it to Gold (Star Silver).

When I travel (mainly on AC, LH, LX, TG, SK and NH) I always get the “Sen” for M&M airlines or LH*G/AC*G on the other Star carriers written on my boarding pass. This is of course good as it will tell me that my status is in the system and hopefully gives me better chances when it comes to op-ups :)
However, my wife has never got the *S coding on any of her boarding passes since qualifying for Diamond Club Gold. Is this normal in Diamond Club or is something wrong with her account? I don’t know how this work but I imagine that a Star carrier have to tell the other alliance members which account has elite status or not?

Any experience with this?

So far, based on my experience, on TG and SQ flight, the OZ*S was printed on the BP. However, it will take up to around 3 weeks after the qualification before it gets shown up in the *A members BP.

Last year soon after I joined Asiana Club and already had enough miles to be *S, I flew SQ and *S didn't appear on my BP. I asked specifically about it and was told by the SQ check-in staff that *S will not appear for OZ members but *G will. I thought it a bit strange at the time but I was *G by the time I flew next and didn't care about my *S status being I already had two other *G cards.

Thanks!

Wife will take a few LX flights next week, will be interesting to see if *S appears or not (or even if the miles post at all). Will report back.

Congratulations on your marriage...finally happened, eh! :) Could it be the bookings were made prior to achieving elite status? I know with AC, the status that shows on a BP (AC or STAR) is the one you had when the booking was made, not what you might have when traveling if it had changed in the interim. I know I still had some flights over the past two months show my AC status as Elite rather than SuperElite which I achieved in mid-May. Of course OZ may be different.

Very good point! This is one of the reason lounges often ask to see your card as the status on the boarding pass might have expired in the mean time.

I find that it is usually the other way round
