American Express Membership Rewards - Point forfeiture for late payment

I searched and could not find related posts. This appeared on my July Platinum statement as a change to the terms of the account:

If the amount due on any Linked charge Card account or the minimum amount due on any Linked credit Card account is not paid in full within one month of the closing date on the billing statement for that Linked account, points accrued in the program for that Linked account for that billing period will be forfeited.

Any comments on what this means?

If the amount due on any Linked charge Card account or (effective for billing periods beginning in September 2009) the minimum amount due on any Linked credit Card account is not paid in full within one month of the closing date on the billing statement for that Linked account, points accrued in the program for that Linked account for that billing period may be forfeited.

In other words, if you do not pay the full amount due on your Platinum card and at least the minimum due on (for example) a Blue card linked to the same Membership Rewards account you will lose the points earned on purchases made during that cycle on the card with the missed payment.
