Hi,

via EasyClickTravel I have been able to get a confirmed ressie for Hyatt Place Coconut Point, FL, for 45 Dollar/night in December. Might just be a good offer, might be an error, I am not sure. But cheap it is.
I also checked what the price is if I check in tomorrow: 45 Dollar/night. I tried a handful of other dates throughout the rest of 2009 and cannot find a rate that differs from that.

Perhaps this was an error that has been fixed, I checked over Thanksgiving and was getting $108 per night and over Christmas is $286 per night.

Was an error... you mean IS an error... I booked 30 minutes ago and my stay is over Xmas. If you were quoted 286 per night then I am really pleased now.:D:D:D

I didn't go so far as to book the room, but I was quoted the $45/night rate as well (December 20-22).

Although it's an excellent price, don't confuse the Hyatt Place Coconut Point in Estero with the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs -- one is 3* and the other 4-5* IIRC. For the Hyatt Regency, $45 would be an incredible price!

The higher rate I was getting was for the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point in Bonita Springs, not the Hyatt Place Coconut Point, Estero FL. $45 rate confirmed over Thanksgiving and right after Christmas. The refundable rate on the Hyatt website is $119 per night.

Thanks for posting. I checked "EasyClickTravel" ... they have some good offers.

The hotel you booked is nice. However, it's not the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point. Hyatt Regency Coconut Point has a boat shuttle to an island, looks like your hotel doesn't have this. BTW, you need a car ... somewhat remote location for both Hyatts. Nearby is a nice mall (Coconut Mall) with good shops and restaurants.
Have fun!

Thanks. Fully agreed this is not luxury like at the Hyatt Regency. We are quite familiar with the area - mrs. Scandi777, who once lived in Naples, must at all times be kept in close proximity to one or more outlet malls (Miromar in this case) and her credit cards are expected to be red hot for the duration of our stay.

Btw, we got the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota last Xmas for 59USD. Am hoping for a similar offer this year

I agree that you will want a car so you can get to the beaches and explore, but all the shops, restraunts and movie theaters at the Coconut Point Mall are within walking distance of the Hyatt Place. The Hyatt Place is nice and has a very small pool, but isn't really comparable to the Hyatt Regency.

The mall behind the hotel is one of the new style outdoor malls. The security is abundant and I have never felt uncomfortable there, even late at night. Besides the clothing stores, which are numerous, there is an Apple Store there for the mac geeks, a nice theater with great seats and numerous eating venues running the gamut from fast food oriental to Ruth's Criss. Even though it is a chain, the Ted's Montana Grill is one of my faves and if you get there on Friday, their Clam Chowder is excellent.

The deal is gone, prices for Dec now being around $80 and upwards.

If anyone knows of a good restaurant in the nighbourhood, please tell. Not looking for a list of possibilites but a few good suggestions would be welcome.

S.Quite frankly, that's about right for that very blah Hyatt ... the only good thing about that rate is I believe you would have been there during the FFN earning period.

Ted's Montana Grill is close by at the mall, great buffalo meat loaf!
Sign up for their emails and they send out bogo's every so often as well.
