Actually if you transfer in 20,000 point increments you get 25,000 AA miles for 20,000 SPG points. This is 1.25 for 1.

(continues to wish SPG had an online bonus points mall or some spending multiplier for groceries or gas...sigh)

yep, you are right. i just meant spg to aa works but mr to aa does not.
