Looks great!^ Korean Air finally launched a flash website for their new Kosmo Suites and Prestige Sleepers. http://newseat.koreanair.com Xeno Jul 9, 09, 9:15 pm How does one know when and where? maven808 Jul 10, 09, 3:13 am Interesting, definitely would like to try that in the future. thekidisback Jul 10, 09, 4:34 am How does one know when and where? Well right now, its available on KE's first 777-300ER thats operating ICN-JFK-ICN KE81/82 3x weekly (Wed, Fri, Sun) and certain days of the week to Ho Chi Minh. They will be gradually installing them to the fleet starting later this year. New aircrafts will also get them. SunLover Jul 11, 09, 10:00 am I flew JFK->ICN on 7/3 and I must say that the new Prestige Sleeper seats are very impressive. Full lie flat. The best business class seats I have ever been in. I did not see the full effect of the upgrade until I took the KE ICN->BKK filght and experienced the old product. I was in 8A, and have the following observations: 1) AVOID THE MINI CABIN. It was claustrophobic compared to the larger cabin, even though there were no overhead luggage bins in the middle of the cabin, ala the 1st class section. There were overhead bins in the larger Prestige cabin, but overall it felt much brighter and roomier. Plus I think there were airflow issues in the mini cabin because when I walked the plane it was much more comfortable in the larger cabin. 2) The AVOD was nice and had tons of selections. The problem was it kept crashing. I figured out how to reset it myself by exiting the movie and then restarting it where I exited. About half way thru the flight an announcement was made saying that they were going to have to reset the entire system, which took about 15 minutes. 3) While it is nice to have SO much space in business class, except for the bulk head seats the screens are in the seat backs, so they are a little far away. So I would suggest bulkhead seats, which have their screen fold out from the chair arms. I am in BkK airport right now and departing in a few minutes, so I will try to post someting more proper on the lounges, services, ect. when I get back. SunLover thekidisback Jul 12, 09, 11:47 pm I'm in the Philippines right now. Just arrived. I was able to experience KE's new economy cabin on the JFK-ICN flight. New 77W so it was clean inside. The legroom was good. the seats themselves were good and comfortable for a 14 hour flight. The AVOD was good, although mine had to be reset. The service was really good too. Attendants always smiling and serving, better than Cathay's (what we usually take to the Philippines) attendants in my opinion. They spoke good english although there were times where they spoke to Korean to me. Food could be better. We experienced a lot of turbulence when a few hours to ICN. So every 20 minutes we would hear the same announcement from the flight attendant telling us to return to our seats and fasten our seat belts. You could tell the FA was getting tired of announcing it haha I was able to look at the new business and first class seats while deplaning. The seats look really nice, especially the new prestige sleepers. I hope Korean Air puts them in the A330-300's. Took one on the ICN-MNL route and the inferior old seats kinda sucked haha speedbird0125 Jul 19, 09, 12:17 am It looks awesome. I think they should offer this seats on LAX too especially daytime flight KE017/8. tylorcl Aug 15, 09, 1:58 am Really hope they can use this new fleet in ICN--YYZ route. I checked the flight in this month was not the new fleet so I can not enjoy it. Maybe next year? orbitmic Aug 17, 09, 4:13 pm It looks awesome. I think they should offer this seats on LAX too especially daytime flight KE017/8. I;d rather they updated Auckland which is a longer flight and still has the very old configuration... ijm Aug 20, 09, 8:21 am will they be fitting these new seats on the 744?? i hope they fit the A333's with new seats soon. they really need upgrading |
