American Express Membership Rewards - Which no fee AMEX is a good replacement for SPG

SPG is my favorite card. My daughter is secondary on my card. Several years ago we opened one where she was primary and I was secondary on hers. Today by phone I tried to have them waive the fee on the second set of cards. Didn't get anywhere after speaking to a supervisor and asking to have HER supervisor call me. It didn't happen. She gave me a snail mail address to write.
What she was offering was a BLUE AMEX without a fee and is part of the membership awards program. I really don't want to collect something else. However we may just do this and then never use the card and have my daughter go back to using her secondary card on my account.
Any other recommendations for another AMEX without a fee that may give something useful. From reading a few threads it sounds like MR charges a fee to transfer points similar to what Diner's Club started doing. When DC started doing that I stopped using their card and only use it for car rentals.
Thanks

Assuming you haven't already done so, apply for biz cards, get bonuses (25K Starpoints on each), cancel existing personal cards (I assume the cards you have now are personal).
Other Amex to consider is Costco card--if you are a Costco member.
But, in the end, Starwood is more or less worth paying for. Last time I tried to get something for keeping card I got 400 Starpoints. Hardly worth the call.

Only other AMEX card that I can think of that has no annual fee is the Hilton Honors AMEX (the regular card and NOT the Surpass card which does have an annual fee).

Amex Blue card participates in Membership Rewards Options which is not the same as Membership Rewards program. As far as I remember, you cannot transfer points to an airline or hotel program using Membership Rewards Options, unless you have a card from Amex that participates in Membership Rewards.

American Express Blue participates in Membership Rewards Express (formerly called Membership Rewards Options) which does not permit transfers to airline or hotel programs. See summary here...

(For information, Membership Rewards charges an excise tax recovery fee on transfers to US based airlines, only.)
There are two other versions of the Blue card. They are identical except for the rewards program.
Blue Cash earns a cash rebate. Be sure to read footnote 3 which explains the rate which are very low on the first $6,500 per year...

Blue Sky earns credits which can be used to offset the cost of air tickets purchased with the card. Spend $7,500 to earn $100 credit, equals 1.33%.

Since I will be keeping my SPG with my daughter as secondary, keeping the second one with her primary does not justify an additional $45 fee. I was thinking of the Hilton card actually. I have one with no fee. As she just graduated from college and has no job I'm not sure she would be eligible for a business SPG. Also I was trying to keep her "credit history" by converting the card to something else.

Surely you daughter has a business. What does she do for income? Perhaps she is a consultant?
And, remember, first year of new Starwood Amex is fee free.

I support her! Yes, she does do some pet sitting, but if asked what her income is - well........ she does have a summer job.
At this point we might just start with converting her current card to a Hilton and see about applying for a different card down the line.....Thanks
... start with converting her current card to a Hilton ...
Please report whether American Express will still allow conversion for SPG to HHonors, and if the card account number remains the same. There have been anecdotal reports that this flexibility is gone, at least when dealing with the first level customer service staff.

I am dealing with a supervisor who said the conversion to Hilton could be done and that the numbers will remain the same. They will need to open a Hilton Honors Account in her name. The supervisor again said that they no longer can waive a fee on SPG. I'll keep you posted. The only holdup is that my daughter has to make the call because she is the primary cardholder.

Product Conversion is alive and well. You just can't convert from a "No Fee card" to a "fee based card". This was according to the helpful Utah based rep I spoke to last month.
