Qatar Airways Privilege Club - Extended business class lounge in Doha

We went through Doha at the weekend, using the premium terminal and its business class lounge. Having done it the weekend before as well, unless my eyes were deceiving me because of the lateness of the hour, the business class lounge has had an extension added to it - all along on the right hand side as you enter. There's a new dining area, a lot more seats, a couple of drinks stations, washrooms and a smoking area. None of that seemed to be there the weekend before (the existing business lounge facilities are all still there). That said the lounge wasn't that busy on the first occasion but was certainly busier the second time around so the extra space will come in useful as I've seen reports that the business class lounge gets crowded in the hours around midnight.

I did not notice anything on the inside when I passed through in June, but I do recall thinking there was an extra glassed in bit sticking out of the building on the BC side as the bus drove by. I tried to figgure out what is was but didn't give it much thought.

Added space on the BC side will be good.

I was there a few days ago and it's indeed been extended, it adds some welcome space and overall I find the whole transit experience in DOH very good. Only drawback which I've noticed everytime I took a shower there is one only gets water from hot to boiling. Cool water would be welcome. Besides inflight service was top notch, a good experience again with QR.

I can't believe they extended it so well, and to such a large extent, so quickly.

It's nice to have an additional buffet over to the left, and somewhat of a view of a hectic-looking terminal entrance and hotel being built.

The flight (just in from CDG en route to BKK), and the terminal, especially for the price, actually makes me feel privileged I get to fly an airline like Qatar Airways, while they're still able to operate offering this kind of value.

The only downside - the speed of the wifi is abysmally slow. But at least it's there, and it's free.
