Other Car Rental Programs/Partners (ie. Alamo, Enterprise, Sixt) - Renting a car in Dusseldorf (Weeze) airport

Hi,

I'm flying into Dusseldorf Weeze airport at the end of the month. It's miles away from Dusseldorf and I'm struggling to get a good rpice on a rental car.

I'm trying to get it to less than £200 if possible and I'm a bit confused by the different insurances but I'd like the one where if something happens you don't have to pay the excess.

Best deal I can get is 216 euros from sixti.com but that still has £250 excess.

Pick up would be 23.45 on the 30th July and drop off 10.00 on the 4th August.

Hope someone can help, would like to book tomorrow if possible!

Thanks a lot,

Matt

Sixt (not Sixti) offers 250€ for the mentioned period of time, excess ist 100€. AFAIK it is not possible to rent with zero excess with Sixt.
The cheapest category would be a Smart. Be aware of that as (IMO) it is a horrible car :td:

Hertz might be cheaper, I'm not familiar with them.

What do you guys mean by "excess"??

Is this a deductible?

If you rent cars regularly in Europe, may I suggest:

You could go via Ryanair->Hertz and get a Fox for 158 GBP, a Polo for 178 GBP or a Focus for 201 GBP
https://ryanair.hertz.com/ryanair/index.jsp?bsc=t&targetPage=reservationOnHomepage.jsp

Apparently there's always some excess - Just don't break the car. :-)
