Stayed at IC Vienna end of June 2009.
Booked 2for1 offer, 2 nights in classic room. Sunday to Tuesday, paid total 256,90€. Room upgraded to Jr. Suite next day online ^
Check in friendly and efficient. Breakfast offered for 20€ pp. if bought when checking in. Otherwise price is 28€ pp. No club access offered. Free internet for RA. They tried to charge me for minibar on check out, had to ask them "should not it be free for RA's". Offered apologies and no charge for minibar.
Room was renovated. Have not stayed before, so can not compare how it used to be. Wallpaper was just put on, as there were still small leftovers all around the suite.
Would stay again. Good value for the money, but would be even better with club access or free breakfast
Austrian service is like German mixed with Jamaican... the efficiency is there but much more relaxed :D

I just completed my Europe Pointbreak Tour Prag/Vienna/Salzburg.
I got full Ambassador privileges ( I am "normal" ambassador) for my 2 night pointbreak stay in Vienna. There was a letter on the room listing all those privileges again. I was surprised at checkout that also internet (25 euro/day) was removed from the bill due to ambassador status.
They also offered a valet parking for the same price as the self parking. However I used a P&R parking space 3km away for 3 euro per night and with the metro I was back at the hotel (the station is directly at the hotel) in less than 10 minutes. Inside of vienna, no car is needed.
For 10 000 points this was a very very nice stay!

In the middle of our two week stay in vienna IC the hotel is very nice and the staff are helpful and friendly. There have been a few problems with families with noisy unsupervised children running around but these have now left and the hotel cannot be blamed for this it could happen anywhere I guess

i was there last weekend with two children, daughers, 2 and 5 years.. they are of course supervised, but still, children can be load and i confirm that this hotel is really not noise proof. I remember hearing from the lift my daugher in the corner room, even if she was not very load. But this was all during normal daytime. They have been in bed after 8 pm and I hope there was no disturbance.
I know there are guest which want to have a 100 % silent room. This is imho not possible in such a city hotel...and it should not be expected.
Regards
Finally ... I've uploaded some pictures (http://www.e-traveller.net/tvweb405/index.php?id=intercontinentalvienna) from my stay last year. The coffee bar was decorated as a gingerbread house during Advent season.

Stayed there last week for 2 weekday nights.
Room
Booked the cheapest room with exclusive 2 for 1 rate. Upgrade to a so-called Junior studio suite. I was very disappointed with the room, if I were the hotel management, I would not add the word "suite" after Junior studio; it is only a slightly bigger room with a set of sofas and a coffee table opposite the bed.
RA treatment
A plate of fuit (2 pieces: an apple and a plum) with a small box of cholocate (2 pieces of Johann strauss chocolate), a bottle of 0.375 cl red wine (osterreich burgenland Zweigelt by Martin pasler), a big bottle of Romer still water and a printed welcome card sticked with hotel manager's business card (no signature on the welcome card).
All other RA benefits were included, minibar with Hillinger Blaufrankisch, Hillinger Welschriesling and all other usual wine and beer (No champagne!:td:).
Amenities
It is the brand name called "we live like this" that I really dislike.
Pros & Cons
Walk-in closet is nice and big^. Bathroom size is decent^, but no seperate shower cubicle:td:.
Free internet access was a bonus^, but no wireless in the room:td:.
Staff are friendly. Manager on duty came out to greet me personally during check in after the front desk staff made a phone call to him and told him in German "Mr. GordonGordon is checking in". ^:)
Tips
If you have a light luggage and are alone, I guess its better to take a shuttle bus (oneway Euro 6) right in front of the airport door exit for taxi; it will take you to the city center, then take a taxi from there (I paid Euro 6.2) to the hotel. It will save you around 25-30 Euro). For 2 persons, I would just take a taxi (around 35-40 Euro).

That's not a junior suite then, but you got a studio suite, i ponder. A junior suite at IC Vienna is a full two room suite (double the normal room size there) that actually deserves its name and it's similar (in size and layout) to an Executive suite at IC Dusseldorf.

That was what the young front desk lady told me "Junior studio suite", so that was why I was very disappointed when I saw the room, I thought I would get the Junior suite like what you described (full 2 room suite). She even had to call to ask about whether both food/snack and beverages at the minibar are free for RA when I asked her about it. She explained to me she had been working in the hotel for less than a month.
I'm thinking about whether the upgraded room that I received was for Amb, not for RA. Did she make a mistake?

Sounds like a Studio suite. You had a view out of the back of the hotel? That's the minimum standard upgrade for RAs they give (= 4 level upgrade, afaik), an AMB won't see the inside of such a room when booking the cheapest category ;).
So there's nothing to complain about, unfortunately, but sometimes a bit pushing helps to get the real Junior Suite, which was the standard upgrade before the renovation. Also, although i have never stayed in a studio suite, reports here seem to show that studio suites are disappointing and barely renovated rooms. Sorry to hear about your experience, I hope next time you'll get a Junior Suite, which is really nice. :)

You had a view out of the back of the hotel?
The room was a corner room with one side overlooking the huge outdoor ice-skating rank downstairs. I don't remember about the view on the other side, but for sure it wasn't anything like the ice-skating rank or Stadpark that could draw my attention.:)
The two suites at the ends of both parts of the building that jut out at the rear and overlook the rink are basically the size of two rooms and are properly described as junior suites. If they had doors then they could viably be called suites. It sounds like you had something else. All the ones I've stayed in recently have been newly renovated and I'm there in a couple of weeks and booked into one. Hope my stay is more cheerful than yours.:(
Stayed in this hotel recently. Not sure if I got any upgrades (I booked a club room, although they gave me a room which is not on the club floor but I do have access to the club lounge). It is a corner room but not larger then the other rooms.
Services was excellent in the hotel. All Ambassador benefits are honoured. I got a chocolate cake and a bottle of sparkling wine from the hotel for my birthday, which I think was very nice.
Breakfast in the lounge is nothing much to talk about - stick to breakfast in the main restaurant.
Overall an enjoyable stay.

Same as I got last month. They seem to be consistent on this.
