Dear fellow FTers,

My family and I will be flying into ONT at 4 pm on July 4th and drive to Lake Arrowhead for a vacation.

To minimize travel or traffic congestion on the way, which would be the most expedient route:

1) I-10 East to I-215 North to 30 East, then Highway 18?

or

2) I-10 to I-15 North to 210 East, hooking up to Highway 18

Thanks

I am not sure because it is a Saturday, but I would be inclined to avoid I-15 and the So Cal- Vegas potential traffic.

The second routing is apt to be much better than the first, which would take you through more densely populated areas with a greater likelihood of traffic.

Another possibility, albeit 10 miles greater in distance is to take I-10 E to I-15 N (past I-210) all the way to State Route 138 E to State Route 18 E. This routing avoids having to navigate surface streets in North San Bernardino, and possible slow traffic on the lower parts of the long SR 18 uphill grade.

As it turned out, traffic was totally light all the way, from the airport to Lake Arrowhead. Seems that most people who needed to get to where they wanted to go went on Friday.

We took I-15 to CA SR 210 to 18, then 173 to Lake Arrowhead. Took less than an hour.

Thanks for your feedback, hope you all had a great weekend!
