Qatar Airways Privilege Club - Hotel for long stop over?

About to be doing a run to HKG from MAN for the offer price of £269 :D, the price is good but the flying time back is bad...

After this run i will be a silver member but as i am on the base level at the moment can i get a room / do something with my time while i am at the airport?

I don't want to be in the airport all this time!

Two things against you:

- Correct me if I'm wrong, but due to this fare QR will not provide STPC for you.
- QR will only pay your room if lay-over > 8.5 hours, and yours is just8.5 (and not more than...)

You can always book a hotel-room yourself; airport is very close to the city, so taxis shouldn't be expensive either...don't know, though, how much a visa will cost you...

Too bad, you ain't Silver yet; QR has a Silver-Lounge where you could 'unwind', but doubt if they'll let you in with a 'burgundy' one...

Thanks anyway... I have now found out i cannot get away from work anyway! I will have to wait if they have any new offers before December so i up my status.

Just found out that i do not get a free layover even with 21 hours :(

It looks like is might be a £15 visa and then a hotel :(

According to QR's website you can book a stopover for $125.

I assume that is for hotel, transportation to/from hotel, etc
