Please, please, please can we have a separate forum room for UK Rail? With over 20 operators running the trains in the UK, I feel we'd be better off in our own room as opposed to either posting to
"European Rail" or "Travel&Dining > Travel&Dining: Destination >> The World > U.K. and Ireland" which is very much hidden away and hard to find.
Thoughts?

Nothing is "hidden away and hard to find" if you add it to your "My Flyertalk", which I'm sure is what most of the regulars do.
As a regular contributor to both forums mentioned I really don't think we need yet another one. It's all far too fragmented as it is.

Agree.
I think including rail in UK & Ireland works well, because many of the forum regulars have a great deal of knowledge of UK rail. Creating a separate forum runs the risk that fewer people will go there to help answer questions.

I agree with you. I thought that was the intention behind the creation of the Europe Rail forum: all journeys which stay within (or are largely confined to) one country will be addressed within the forum for that country. All journeys which are between or within several European countries will be asked in the Europe Rail forum.
As such, I am of the opinion that all UK & Ireland rail questions belong in the UK & Ireland forum.

Agree entirely, and the other issue is that often the questions aren't so much about trains as about the best way from A to B. There's been many a thread where people who were going to go by plane got advice to go by train. Equally potential train train travellers advised to use a bus, etc.
