Korean Air Skypass - Ways to earn Skypass miles w/o flying?

I have a bunch of miles but not quite enough for the award ticket I want. I supposedly need 1400 more miles.
What are my options? Can I buy miles? What do they charge? The price to buy extra UA Mileage Plus miles were ridiculous... nearly as much as buying ticket out right.
Also what are the ways to earn miles w/o flying, i.e., other than the US Bank KAL Visa card usage?

I'm unaware of a miles purchase program.
You can earn miles by staying at various hotels. Here are a list of partners:

You can also earn miles through rental cars.

Thanks.
Too bad they don't have anything going with Starwood...
I stayed at a Summit group hotel (Imperial Palace) in Seoul for about a months a couple of years ago... I wonder if I got my miles from the stay.. I'll have to check.

KE is very conservative with their mileage program, I think. No buying, trading, no member complimentary upgrades whatsoever. Only thing is they do allow families to support on your mileage shortage so if your one of your family is involved, do register them as a family and you can use their miles. Otherwise, hotels/ rent cars/ credit cards would be the way to go.

Unfortunately I have the card already... although I don't think I got as much as 10,000 miles at the time... not 100% positive but more like 5,000. Yes I suppose I ought to use my KAL Visa as much as I can.
I think you get 1 mile for every $1 spent at the KAL duty free Sky Shop as well.

IF you are staying in Korea and able to open an account, then this is a better deal.
1mile for 1000KRW (0.8 USD)

I beleive Korean credit card companies charge only $10-20 for mileage card annual fee. (it was 10,000won 3 years ago)
