Hi all-
This is likely going to be a confusing question, because I'm pretty confused.
Trying to book a car in France for July. I logged in and it by default used the CDP that's in my profile (it's still holding on to my old CDP from when I worked at a large US multinational company and lived in the states). Massively high rates and strange list of available cars.
I tried it with the Affordable Europe Rate, and with the Hertz Summer Sale (15% off) that's showing on the home page, and I get different rates. Expected, no problem.
Importantly though, the confusing thing is this: If I log out and go to a standard hertz page, look for a reservation, and try and book it, I get the rate shown with the following:
Rate Includes:
location service charge
collision damage waiver (check "rental qualifications and requirements" for details of non waivable excess)
theft protection (check "rental qualifications and requirements" for details of non waivable excess)
vehicle licensing fee and road tax
If I do it from within my club gold profile--same CDP/rate codes, rates come up the same--but completely different list shows up on the inclusive rate page. It says:
This Rate is Guaranteed. Taxes, fees and extras, if not included in the rate, are subject to change.
View Optional Items
Collision damage waiver (Check "Rental qualifications and requirements" for details of Non waivable excess)
per week 160.93 EUR
22.99 EUR
Super Cover:
per week 111.16 EUR
15.88 EUR
Personal Accident Insurance / Personal Effects Coverage
per week 52.71 EUR
7.53 EUR
Theft protection (Check "Rental qualifications and requirements" for details of Non waivable excess)
per week 73.15 EUR
10.45 EUR
I wouldn't mind booking under my #1 Club Gold profile, just to make things easier--but it clearly states that CDW is extra. I wonder what's going on with it? Surely they'll not charge me a much higher price as a gold member than they do the standard public? Or do you reckon this is some kind of website glitch and I'd be covered anyway? :(
Any thoughts?
