Hi

I was wondering if I could get some expert opinions

Would you choose either option A or option B as part of DONE4 no preference for which city just which airline

Option A : Syd-EZE on QF with a first class seat and business class service

or

Option B : SYD-SCL on LAN with their new Premium business which is better than a Qantas Skybed but I am not sure if it is better than a first class seat on Qantas

I cant decide between the two and I must admit am leaning towards LAN

QF to EZE......

I would take LA. You have no guarantee that QF will still be offering a 1st class seat sold as business class by the time you travel

Don't know if this is a factor but remember SYD-SCL goes via AKL as well rather than direct.

My thoughts too. The F cabin may well be closed off or even sold as First class if QF sees a F market has returned.

If it was an award seat, it depends on availability. Also, the LA flight will go via AKL and if LA are runing late, it may mean a QF flight to AKL then picking up LA form there. Not a desirable prospect.

No preference for city? Wow.

If this is the case, the QF flight I should be the nicer one even if "only" in the Skybed. Less hassle, less risk. Yes, not fully flat but many other pluses.
I would not count on getting a F seat on that flight.

Firstly my flight date is for August and currently I am on the QF 17 to EZE allocated row 3 as a Gold FF, I know not the best seat in first class but first class none the less

I am going to both EZE and SCL i guess it is just a question of which one first so to speak

the stop over in auckland is in my opinion a good thing chance to stretch my legs maybe have a shower in the qantas lounge

But still I am confused as I want to know which is better I guess more based on service and seat; flight time, stop overs are kind of irrelevant although the thought of having to fly qantas from syd-akl is not that appealing if LAN is cancelled from akl

thanks for all your great replies I am always trying to improve my posts with regard clarity

LAN is great. Their business class is at least as good as QF First. QF First has more privacy but I find loads low on LA so most of the time you can get an empty seat next to you. I would not risk ending up in a slippery slope seat on QF.

On the other hand: front cabin of a 747 is a special treat.

Food on LA is not the best either.

I failed to mention earlier, but with a 10:00 departure from SYD to EZE (QF), your body clock would be only just considering going to sleep by the time you land in EZE some 12 hrs later. So the value of the F seat versus a less flat J seat is questionned. But, I'm sure the crew will be encouraging everyone to go to sleep after the first meal service.

I wouldn't go that far. Their business class seat is better than the QF seat (even so it is narrower). But the LA business class (as in the entire experience) is not better than QF First at all. Maybe not even as good as QF J.
