Air New Zealand Air Points - Booking Direct or via Expedia

Hi All,

I am looking to travel WLG-BNE in 2 weeks time. NZ are quite expensive compared to the LCC's but I thought I'd show my allegiance to them.

When looking at the flights that suit best, on NZ's website they are ~ $130 more expensive than on Expedia. Is this a common occurrence with airlines in general?

Will NZ match this cheaper fare if I call them? Or if I do book through Expedia, will I lose my ability to choose the Space + seats as a KC member?

I have had the same problem, finding cheaper prices on Expedia.

I called NZ, they wouldnt match, so logically, I booked on Expedia. Had no problems what so ever, in regards to seat selection or status. Not sure about space +, as im not eligible for it, but im sure you could still do it.

Anyway, the bottom line is, its $130 more expensive, I would have no hesitation to book with expedia.

Flights in question are: Dep 11/7 NZ406, NZ135 and Ret NZ136, NZ467.

I get $898 return on both sites for those flights. (returning 19/7)

Have you tired booking the direct flights from WLG to BNE/OOL?

Any reason for fly VIA Auckland, as the 320 out of WLG now have AVOD.

The Air NZ online price guarantee has been around for a couple of years (at least).

You have to book a ticket on airnz.co.nz then call them up and tell them the fare you found on expedia
