Hi, does anyone have a relatively recent (anytime in 2009 would be fine) menu for CX 841, the morning JFK-HKG flight in F? Thanks in advance for posting it or a link to it.

Will CX 831 do from 2008's menu? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cathay-pacific-asia-miles/773816-cx-f-menus-2008-a-3.html

It wouldn't change that much...even though its a slightly different flight.

Expect breakfast, or lunch .. and then snack, snack and dinner probably before arrival?

Thanks, Guy. Actually, at that hour my stomach will be expecting a regular breakfast, which I apparently will not get on board. That was really what I was trying to find out. I'll be connecting from BOS-JFK with 0600 departure time out of BOS, so not much chance to eat when I wake up at 0330. Ugh.

Also, you have PM.

No prob. It's a great flight...arrived @ the W in HKG rested and relaxed, and ready to go out to dinner.

I think I started with the dim sum early, had the lobster for "dinner" and then some more snacks.

Yes, the timing would work perfectly for that.

I stayed at the W Hong Kong in April. Nighttime arrival into HKG to connect to 830 the next morning. Took the Airport Express straight to Kowloon Station and upstairs to the W. It was my first time in a W, -- very cool.

I just took 840 in F HKG-JFK. The departure time was 9:30am with a 1:10pm arrival.

Neither the first meal option, snacks, nor second meal option had anything remotely approaching a breakfast food.

I was surprised because many people would want breakfast/brunch upon departure from HKG or prior to arrival at JFK as people would have been asleep for quite a while and it would probably be no later than 11am-1130am NY time for the last service.

So...I would encourage you to eat breakfast in the lounge prior to departure from HKG if you haven't had breakfast and was expecting it onboard.

I mentioned to the flight attendant and she told me this was a fairly recent change. She said they were surprised when they saw the menu but she figured CX had done a survey and this is what people preferred.

Chuck, the morning nonstop HKG-JFK is 830, IIRC. I took that flight in April, and it worked perfectly for me, allowing me to avoid jetlag completely. And yes, I, too, was surprised that there was no regular breakfast.

ex-HKG you can get a far better breakfast cooked to order in the lounge than would ever be possible on a plane, so I guess that's one reason.

Oh yeah, that's right, Christep. I completely forgot. That would also explain why, when I flew back on 830 in April, I was already ready for the Krug and caviar by the time they started serving on board.

And, IIRC, CX is in the BA terminal at JFK, and will have no food options even approaching the HKG lounges. Final answer? I'm out of luck if I'm flying 841 and I want breakfast. Maybe I'll fly in the night before and stay at my sister's house or a hotel.... My stomach is pretty sensitive, especiallly in the morning, and a regular breakfast would make a big difference in the rest of my day (which will be spent, of course, on board). (Geez, talk about OT, now we have the beginnings of a description of my digestive issues here on FT .)

Line it with milk or olive oil and then live on Krug.

Works for me :D

Get it while you still can. Krug still offered ex-JFK (at least on CX889 last night), even though the wine list indicated Deutz.
