Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - HKG-SIN: Always a Regional 773?

Just curious, does CX always use a regional 773 on this route? I ask because the J accommodations are just so average -- not much to write home about. Again, just curious.

For a 3 hour flight, CX's regional J is absolutely fine. Try taking a 3 hour flight in Business class on a European airline. :eek:

I'm looking at the schedule for early July. It looks like there are a couple of 744s and even an A340 (3 class) that fly this route, depending on the day of week. But the majority of flights are the 773 (regional) and A330.

No, one of the daily flights is operated by a 74A and is sold as 3 class. These always have the new F/J/Y class unless they are swapped for a 333 or 34C at the last minute.

Alternatively, some of the 777/773 flights may be swapped to 77A at the last minute too. CX has no predictability for these short hops and you may book a regional F/J and find yourself in the new Olympus seats, and the opposite is equally likely to happen.


However, on long haul flights they're usually pretty good about using the same aircraft as advertised when booking.

So far this year i flew SIN-HKG-SIN quite a few times and all i got was Regional A330 and B777-300.
I noticed that more 74A's and A34C are currently being added to this route.

My latest flight was 2 nights ago its a 777-300 HKG-SIN CX 715.

You could also try the SQ A380. Quite an experience. An unbelievable one if you can get a decently-priced F seat. But better not plan work after the Krug/Dom combination.

Hopefully, I'll be lucky enough to not have to fly a regional 773 or A330 in J in October. I'll keep my fingers crossed. Thanks again to all.

Why do you wish to fly with A330 and 773 so badly.
I hope for a 74A. ^

I believe the OP said hopefully he'll be lucky enough and he will not have to fly with regional J.
