Hilton HHonors - Upgrade Question at DT

Hi all,

I just made a weeklong reservation at the Doubletree in San Antonio and on the confirmation email there was a link for requesting items for my arrival. I checked off a robe and a few other items but I didn't know what to make of the offer for a "Complimentary Room Upgrade".



Naturally I checked that box, but I was somewhat suprised that as a basic member I was given that option. Back in the day I was a Diamond and the room upgrades were nice.

Is that a normal offer for a blue card member?

Considering it is mid July in San Antonio I suspect my odds of getting an upgrade are non-existent. Is that correct?

It's only a Request and I wouldn't count on it being honored.

Or it might be an "upgrade" from the backside of the elevator bank to the middle of the hall.
