American Express Membership Rewards - How quick is transfer of MR points to Aeroplan points (AC)?

I'd like to book a flight for this weekend by transferring a bunch of points from MR to AC's Aeroplan where I can book a TATL on LH metal for only 80,000 points. Tried to search for this but no luck.
How quickly will the points show up at Aeroplan? I know transfers are almost instant to the Delta and CO programs for instance. Thanks!

Pretty much instant as well.

thanks! Do you know if the points have to be in Aeroplan to make a reservation or will it hold it for any period like DL does. Thanks again.
Aeroplan doesn't do holds (that I'm aware of), the points have to be in the account, but you could literally plan out your trip with the agent on the phone and when they have the reservation put together you can click through the final transfer on the website. Points will be there, they ticket, bada bing!

I was short a few thousand points from MR to AC so I needed to xfer some SPG, they told me it could be up to 30 days, I think it took 8 if I recall correctly... if that helps anyone.

SPG transfers come from SPG, not from AmEx. It is a very different beast.
