There are bogus pictures that are supposed to be shots taken from a recovered digital camera of the interior of AF 447 during its break-up over the Atlantic. These pics have been debunked as screen shots from the pilot episode of the TV series Lost. These pics are making their rounds on mass emails. I won't even post a link to snopes nor will I include the pics in this post. This is some sick person's idea of a joke. The families of the victims are once again victimized by this hoax.

Please be on the lookout and delete the email. Also, reply to whomever sent you the viral email and educate them so this hoax won't continue.

A similar situation happened on September 12 when a doctored photo was passed off as a picture recovered at ground zero showing someone on the roof snapping a pic of AA #11 coming straight at him. This was also debunked and also was a cruel hoax perpetrated on the surviving friends and families of the Sept 11 attacks.

There is a video on YouTube of a Bolivian newscast showing the photos over and over and talking about their exclusive pictures of the tragedy. Idiots.

I'm moving this to the AF forum, where I hope it will not garner much attention (no offense to the OP).

Sorry, I did not realize there was a separate forum for AF and KL. My bad. Thanks.

You'd think a TV station, with all its resources and the "educated" people who worked for it are smart enough to distinguish between such an easy hoax? I mean, everyone knew the accident happened sometimes around midnight on top of equator, not near North Pole or Antartica, so any person with at least a tiny bit of common sense would immediately realize the pictures can't possibly be real given the brightness and presence of bright sunlight. Some of these South American media are just...I don't know, it makes you wonder if those people even graduated from high school.
