Just took AZ on JFK-FCO (Flight was great. Typical JFK delays, but AZ was nice.)
Also flew AZ on FCO-CTA and FCO-CDG. Both flights were slightly late, but good experience. Nothing amazing, but overall a very nice experience onboard.

I cannot believe you had a nice experience on AZ!:D:D
No, just kidding!
Actually all my AZ flights are on the good average: no inconvenients at all.
Service is not particularly special but not worse than the current European average.
Certainly it is not the airline I would choose for my honeymoon :D but for my business flights is a totally reliable and safe choice.

Actually, 5 years ago (I know, totally different airline then), my wife and I took them back from our honeymoon (in Greece) and it was fantastic!

Well, your history sounds very interesting especially in this forum where everybody seems ONLY complaining (just to write few lines...)!
On the other hand you should deserve a real interview from some marketing responsible... and even an upgrade:D

That would be nice. But it's all true. I really did like my experience with Alitalia.

In Y or in J?
In J (Business Class). Fantastic food, fantastic staff.
And yes, I do fly Business Internationally from time to time, so this wasn't my first experience with it.

Jokes apart Alitalia COULD have a competive product. When things go well Alitalia is good. When things go badly - things go very very badly. Cancelled flights, customer service, xxmiglia etc etc let the airline down badly. In a very competive market place Alitalia need to improve their international service
Domestically they are a mess - delays - cancellations, Meridiana have caught up... Just flew to CAG with Meridiana - very impressed. Good service, on time both ways - seats on par with AZ
