We are doing a LAX - San Fran - Las Vegas in July.
We have initially booked a Compact, however we have thought due to the amount of driving we will be doing over the two weeks perhaps the comfort of a SUV would be better.
I've read around the forum that a lot of the time they don't have econ/comp cars anyway and regularly give away upgrades. I've heard it is cheaper to pay for the upgrade in advance rather than the hard sell at the counter.
My predicament is, do I phone and pay the upgrade to an SUV NOW
or
Do I wait until I get to LAX (4pm on a Saturday) see if I get an upgrade, if not upgrade anyway.
We had a Chevy Trailblazer when we went to Florida and loved it. Having anything smaller now I think would be a bummer!
