Hertz - Credit card Insurance coverage whe using a free day coupon??

Hi,
Just a quick question. I got some free Hertz rental days certificates from my company. Normally for my past rentals I use my credit card to cover the car Insurance. I was wondering if i use a free day coupon will my credit car will cover the car insurance?

If your whole rental will be covered by free days then your credit card will not cover you at all. If you are actually paying for some of the days then call your credit card company and see what their policy is as some will provide it and other won't.

I did hear a story of a credit card company refusing to pay for damage because they said that the accident happened on "the free day" -- Hertz does not identify which days are free if only some are. They will not say, "Tuesday is your free day"...

Not necessarily. This varies widely from card to card. Check the printed description of coverage for your card(s).

There is additional discussion of this exact topic. Search for threads started by myself in either the Hertz forum or the Amex forum. In the last month or two. I'd do it, but I'm too lazy. :p
