so i arrive this morning, and as usual have to wait 30 minutes for the hertz shuttle at terminal 1.
upon arriving at the gold board, i find that about 1/3 of it is out, including of course the portion with my name.
no problem. i'll go to the gold booth and find out where my cars is...
gold booth closed.
no problem, i'll go to the counter and find out...
there is one person working (soon joined by a second) and a large line of gold members who are victims of the blank board.
wait! the checkin kiosks! i'll find my rental there!
i swipe my card. 'your rental requires special handling. see agent.'
i get back in line. FINALLY someone tells me where the car is. i should have just walked up and down the rows of cars looking for my name.
i'm wondering why i continue to let myself fall victim to ORD's shoddy operation. the technical difficulties happen, but the interminable wait for shuttles first thing in the morning and the resulting sardine-like ride is really wearing on me.
