DM traveling w/family of 4 (including DM) on J, any provision to take extra family member to F lounge? Thanks much for the pointers! Where are you departing from? As a DM, you can redeem F lounge access at any time with 10000 asia miles for the a guest (ie your 4th person) at HKG. There's also a promo going on currently till Nov 30th which allows you to redeem for a couple of CX F lounges outside of HKG as well, but I fail to remember which ones. Thanks much for the pointers! If you have a child with you (on a child ticket) then usually you can just ask nicely if you can bring him/her in with you in addition to the +2, but if your family are all on adult tickets, I'm not sure. I guess you could still ask the lounge reception staff. Since you're a DM I would think they'd be more accommodating. cxfan1960 Jun 21, 09, 10:49 pm No need to worry. I checked in with my family at HKG last August. There were a total of four adult passengers on J. Instead of getting one F and three J invitations, the check-in agent gave me just one F (and no J) invitation. She wrote three guests on there and stamp it. That was done without me asking. All of us were admitted to the F lounge. tiburon1K Jun 22, 09, 4:15 am No need to worry. I checked in with my family at HKG last August. There were a total of four adult passengers on J. If we do not have the same experience as cxfan1960, we have 10K as an option! Thanks much! Thanks much! I certainly wouldn't waste 10K miles just to use the F lounge. The J lounge is perfectly adequate. It is just a lounge, after all. I do this in HK when I travel with family (2 kids). I always ask nicely and they always accommodate me. QRC3288 Jun 22, 09, 9:30 am I certainly wouldn't waste 10K miles just to use the F lounge. Mafai Jun 23, 09, 12:43 am They are usually quite flexible with this. They check my party of 4 into F lounge in HK. However, they cannot give you extra golf cart seats to gates that are far away. Only the member can have this privilege. tedhl Jun 23, 09, 1:14 am However, they cannot give you extra golf cart seats to gates that are far away. In the few occasions I had travelling companions, I boarded in low-numbered gates. So I do not have first hand information. However, I noticed that occasionally there were people travelling together, one with a buggy voucher and the other(s) not, and they would pay at the buggy station. In one occasion, I believe the passenger with the voucher was a DM because I saw him in Wing F, and he and his travelling companion ended up in the same J cabin I was in - he was not a F passenger. tiburon1K Jun 23, 09, 5:03 pm No need to worry. Also offered buggy ride but we declined as we wanted to walk after a good lunch @ F lounge. Was offered an upgrade for 1 (DM) but we wanted to stay together and hence declined. They proactively worked in getting 4 seats together and followed up at lounge with new boarding passes (87 A/K & 88 A/K). Thanks again! cxfan1960 Jun 23, 09, 5:52 pm Thanks much for your replies! I do not know if you were on a long haul. If you were, you should not decline F. If you wish, you could pass the op-up to your wife instead. It would be a wonderful experience (+ a Shanghai Tang pj). tedhl Jun 23, 09, 8:05 pm well, depends on how old the two kids are...while it's a nice gesture to the wife, if it were me I wouldn't want to handle two kids by myself... ;) |
