I was looking at the FPC benefits on their site and on one page it says that if you become platinum before Sept. 15th you get to enjoy that status for this membership year and next membership year, which should be Feb 2011. Does this also mean I would get 2 platinum packages?

So what happens if someone only becomes plat by december 2009? They can only enjoy the benefits until Feb 2010?

Thanks.

Turtle.

First, welcome to FT!

I can't help with the first example. I recall it was a November that I reached Plt. For that, I didn't receive any package till feb-ish the following year, and the certs etc expire Feb a year from that.
So, if I became Plt in Nov 07, I got a packet in Feb 08, and coupons expire Feb 09.
The Plt status, though, can be updated just by contacting FPC and telling them to confirm that you have reached the number of stays, etc. While that alone won't give you coupons, etc., it should give you the welcome amenities, etc.

But to get a firm answer to your question, I suggest email or phone FPC.

Cheers,
chop

In your case let's say that once you got your package in Feb 08, and didn't stay at Fairmont as often anymore, when would your status update you back to regular? Feb 09 as well?

I find it strange that they would let us enjoy higher status immediately if we achieve it in early Sep. but make us wait till next year if we do so in Oct.--Dec.!
What Choptliva says re: phoning makes more sense & is the way all other chains do it.

I think if you reach Plt before Feb of 09, you are Plt for the bal of the year AS WELL AS Plt through Feb 10.
So, let's say you reach Plt in Oct 08, but do not stay at all in 09, you are still Plt till Feb 10. I'm quite sure that's the way it is, but I am speaking from memory here and others may prove me wrong. That's what I remember to be the case.

Yes, I can confirm that this is what will happen. I re-qualified for Platinum a couple of years ago after slipping back to Premier and got the full set of certs mid-year. The next year I got a new set as well.
