Hi,
I have get a freenight for an Amerihost (booked March, reservation for Juni)
But as I checked in, it was not honored. He say it is now an america's best inn. It was very surprised - outside was the sign from amerihost, he has my reservation..
so I want no stay for pay there.
We stayed at the next super 8.
I replay the mail to the costumer service agent, was give me the freenight, but get no answer (2 weeks ago, perhaps he not more working there).
Has anywhere an idea or a mail adress from customer service BRG department?
Thank's so much for helping

Chaoslady:
You can contact customer service, but that will not do much for you other than the posibility to get an extension on the free room reward.
These smaller hotels are nearly all private owned and can change brands often. When they do, the correct thing would be for them to look at upcming reservations for award stays and notify the customers. They did not do that and other than the possibility of extending your award certificate, there is not much Wyndham can do for you.
You can email them at customerservice@wyndhamrewards.com
Good luck.

I thought if I have a reservation confirmation of such a big enterprise, this is also obliging.
I got none email that what has changed.
Thus at least my decision was properly to be gone to a more favorable Super8 and receives at least points. And I consider in future there to book if the confirmed rates are not sure.
Thank you for the answer and info.

Wyndham won't be able to do much of anything since this was Best Rate Guarantee reservation and not an award certificate. I doubt they can force a property that has left the brand to honor a reservation made under that brand or to even offer any sort of compensation for not honoring such a reservation.

o.k.
I have understood. Though had already experienced years ago that from ramada a Hojo became. However, reservierung was as recognised as was booked.
I also do not know who the costs for freenight carries? (hotel or wyndhamrewards)
What I found a pity that no news came that all amerihost do not belong any more to wyndham. The reservations any more for the booked price are not valid.
Also I received on mine email no answer.
I booked always on time advises all the same for which. If I understand you properly, is no hotel proprietor bound to it if he changes his name?
Hope really that this is an isolated case. I never had the last years a problem with this group.
But my sister also has with freenight a problem. With the Checkin Super 8 everything o.k.
Now, however, became the credit card with the full ones advises loaded.
Also she waits for an answer.

I'm sure you didnt have an issue with Ramada going to Howard Johnson as those brands are a part of the same family of brands.
With regards to the free night under the BRG, I've been told that the hotel is the one that "covers" the cost of that night, since its the hotel's responsibility for loading their rates into the various systems.
Also with regards to the hotel's liability to honor a reservation, you really won't be able to get that answered. Change of affiliation might just change the contract made when a reservation is book especially when that reservation is for a brand specific promotion. Also, do you know if the ownership change when the affiliation changed? That does happen quite often as well.

Thank you for the answer.
I become in future carefully his with reservations about wyndhamrewards.
I cannot recognise as a customer with the reservation who has the property rights (ownership) -
or when a hotel Change of affiliation from the Wyndham-group - between booking and Checkin.

What you encountered can happen with any hotel chain or any hotel for that matter. Its not a problem you would just encounter with Wyndham family of brands. It could happen at Marriott, Hilton, Choice, etc.
You are right about not being able to recognize an ownership change as a customer. But the change of affiliation is something that can more easily be determined. Clues that a hotel has change brands would be things like hotel not showing up on the one brand's website, hotel answer their phones differently, etc.
