Hertz - JFK to BOS in August

Looking to P/U JFK 8/8 1:00 am and return BOS 8/14 late afternoon. Any good codes out there with low rates and no drop off fees?? I am Gold.. thanks in advance..

Perhaps try off-airport. Those airport taxes will surely add up over such a long time.

With a 1am PU you'll have trouble renting off airport, but if you are staying the night in NY you should consider it. I did a quick search on Orbitz and that looked to save a good $100.

There should be no drop fees; have you tried the Travel Partner Club CDP in the CDP thread? That and AAA should be a good starting point.

Also don't be afraid to shop around beyond Hertz.

Keep an eye on Hertz.com; most of the current specials are for rentals beginning June 30 or before. Hopefully they'll have some specials.

The off-airport suggestion is a good one; that appears to save quite a bit not only in taxes but also daily rate.

Without even looking at discounts or anything, renting at JFK and returning to Boston on their website is total of about $890

Picking up a car in Stamford the next morning (spend the night in New York) and returning it to Boston is $336. Stamford is a 45 minute train ride from Manhattan, costs $9.25 for an off peak ticket, the Rental desk is at the station.

To me that's more then worth it.
