Hi,

I booked BOS-CDG on Delta.com and I was assigned Air France flights. I am trying to select my seats. The flight is on a Boeing 747 and I would really like to sit in the upper deck. My understanding is that the upper deck is still economy, but the seats are more spacious and there is an extra charge for booking those seats. I don't understand why on delta.com, it does not even show the upper deck. Would I need to call Delta or Air France to do this? I am willing to pay the extra charge.

as a plat you can get them 'now' ... call Delta and get it fixed. Do OLCI @ 30 hrs and AF might give them to you for free; else pay @ OLCI

be warned that sometimes AF changes equipment (there are two types of 747) or decides to close off the upper deck, and you will be reassigned seats automatcially and maybe even be stuck in a middle seat in the last minute.

Thanks! I didn't realize that they close the upper deck on occasion. Maybe I'd better just stick with my aisle seat.

I'm not sure if this reply comes too late for you, but I have a BKK-CDG later this year, and when I went to pick my seat on the AF website, lo and behold, there was the upper deck, in a 3-3 configuration, as opposed to the 2-4-2 downstairs. I picked the first row, and when I check my reservation on line, it shows the seat as confirmed. No fee, and apparently no restriction, even with my cheapo fare. I had to scroll all the way to the right of the screen to find the floor plan of the upper deck. Hope that helps.
