Although I've been flying a number of times after joining FT, I felt that this one should be documented for others to read and hoping they'll enjoy a writing from a TR Newbie.
Here I am writing while sitting in bed, thinking of nothing but my first trip in F almost all the way in UA Domestic F, SQ International F, CI Y, and UA PS C (will OLCI/Gate upgrade to F).
My actual trip will start tomorrow when my shuttle driver picks me up and delivers me to SEA and finally begin my RTW trip in SQ F.
To be honest, for all my life; I've never imagined being able to fly in International F especially with SQ.. But life comes my way, and thanks to my dad's financial support and that of my own savings; I managed to book my SQ RTW and a few connecting flights on United.
You might wonder about the CI Y, but since my dad 'wishes' me to fly along with the rest of the family instead of redeeming my KF miles on MI C, I just had to follow him which to my dismay ends me up flying CI instead of MI.
In this trip I'll be spending some time in the Meritus Mandarin in SIN, since my dad told me its the 'cheapest' and I can't get any cheaper than that.. I was eager to prove him wrong on all accounts (being an FT member anyway, I was ready to strut my stuff out to him and prove him wrong), but he being my dad and I'm his son, I just had to follow through even if I've found a fantastic deal on the Swissotel..
Since I am also leaving SEA and starts my new school year in PDX, I had to say a few goodbyes to all my friends, the good Metro Drivers whom I had befriended, and everyone I've met especially the people from Catanzarros in Pike Place Market (Where I've bought from them 9lbs of either Muscat or Rainiers every week and kindly always left me some stocks to buy). On a separate note, I also managed to get to see Boeing's Museum of Flight after 2 years living in SEA. To be honest, it was really worth it.. Got to even see three historic aircrafts such as the P-51 Mustang, B-17G Flying Fortress, B24J Liberator, and all of them still flying thanks to the efforts of restoration groups that had done a tremendous job..

The rest of the pics will be available here (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=267115&id=770765312&l=4720efb2ca)
This is the end of my Pre-TR, although I still have so much to talk about; I kind of forgotten what to actually talk about up to this point.. I hope all of you will enjoy this little Pre-Boarding Snack... :D

Thanks guys for the feedback.. Down below is a little something before the Big SQ RTW...
[SEATAC Airport, June 20th ~ 16:00 PM]
My trip began officially as I arrive in SEATAC at about 4 in the afternoon. It was all quiet, nice and serene with only a couple of lines in Y and three or four people in the Elite line..
This is how quiet the CI desk was:
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs106.snc1/4784_230132905312_770765312_7262862_2539797_n.jpg
Everything went on surprisingly well and I noticed this gentlemen in purple shirts and took no notice to him and he as well to me.
I checked in, and managed to get my Interline with SQ prepped by the agent and weighed everything down. Got my BP and was ready to head out to the Screening area when this gentlemen in the purple shirt approached me not one feet from the CI counter and asked me, "Are you a Flyertalker?"
For a moment there, I was quiet and managed to reply "yes". He then told me his FT handle, which I thought due to his thick English/Australian accent was Kawohl.
And so, I gave him way to first do his stuff with the CI agent and once everything's done, we chatted a little bit.
Turned out, he's Kawoh the Star Alliance Moderator. So we shook hands (If I remember correctly) and started to chat a bit when he said that this was his second ever meeting an FTer with the 'Flyertag'.
He then suggested we find a coffee shop, which is a Starbucks right beside the screening gate with Alaska's elite line and we talked about an hour or so until it is time for me to depart. Turns out, he's on his way to HKG and LHR tomorrow.
So at around 17:05, we parted ways and wished each other a good flight and trip..
Here's a pic of me and Kawoh:
http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs106.snc1/4784_230132915312_770765312_7262864_5999095_n.jpg
Sorry that the pic blurred a bit, but here's me on the left and he on the right. I'll post a much better one when he emailed me the pic from his camera..
Afterwards, the screening's pretty uneventful and I fail to see the need to go through UA's elite line, so I went through to the screening place near the starbucks as Kawoh departed.
Pic of SEA's Screening Area:
http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs106.snc1/4784_230132910312_770765312_7262863_3097266_n.jpg
All in all, very uneventful screening.. Even managed to make a few friendly gestures to fellow flyers and no MMWs in sight. TSA Agents were pretty calm, nothing really happened.
Then, I was on my way to gate N16 using the tram system and arrived there about 1 hour before the boarding time. I entered the RCC without a problem, whipped my SQ *G and BP, all went well. I also asked her about photo opportunity of the cabin, and she said to me to just head to the gate around 5:35 and ask the GA about it. So the only thing I did was just use the bathroom and went out to the gates and asked a Male GA about taking pictures of the cabin.. His answer? Well, plain and simple "NO!"
Ah well, I tried anyways so a bit grumbling I went back to the RCC and told the RCC agent about what happened. Soon afterwards, I went to grab some pics and an apple juice before I go back to the gate for boarding.
A few shots from the RCC...
It was quiet, there was probably less than 10 people, and here's a few quick shots:

The Bar, quite empty too:

[Trip 1, SEA-SFO]
Flight: UA 475
Aircraft: A320
Seat: 2C
Load: F 9, Y & Y+ 80% Full
So as we board, there were two UA pilots joining the F pax. I happen to sit to one of them. As the flight safety video turned on, we started chatting a bit, topic starting from myself to finally Glenn Tilton and how much he and the rest of UA hates Glenn..
This UA pilot's very nice and we really talked a whole lot. Until in the end of the flight, he gave me a little surprise when I mentioned to him about GGG mid-flight...
The rest was very quiet.. Service was nice, fruits and cheese were served and a bit of turbulence as we enter SFO.
I managed to take a few pics before the plane departed and here's some of it..
Seat 3D, right behind the UA Pilot:

Sorry for being very late on this part.. Didn't quite get enough internet access or time to allow me to do this.. So here goes!
[SFO]
After I went from the domestic gates (Gate 74), I went straight through to the bridge and on towards the International Terminal.
The first thing I did was to go down to gate 91 and ask the ground staff to print my BP and check the interline with United. There was one person who I went through asking that, he actually pulled a Y boarding pass until he later checked his computer and saw me flying in F. I was surprised when he did this and once he realized his mistake, he sent one of his colleagues to take an F BP to print my tix. Later on, I asked the same person, whose name is 'Bill' if I could actually get onboard first and take a few pictures around 10 minutes before boarding time. Bill told me to get back from the lounge around 10 after midnight and also informed me that the SKL will not be open until 21:45. So I decided to head towards the RCC towards the connecting bridge.
During my previous conversation with Kawoh, he told me that the RCC was much more horrendous than SKL so I was dreading for something terrible.. But what do you know?
When I entered and flashed my BP; the LL (Lounge Lady) recognised instantly that the SKL is still closed, offered me a few drink chits, and when I asked for the 24 hour internet card, she gave one to me. :D
Then I asked her since I'm flying in F if I can get into United's F lounge. She was very helpful and with a phone call towards the F desk, she told me where it is and sends me on my way! :D
Now I didn't really see the 'innards' of the RCC, but when I entered the lounge.. Well, Color me impressed!! ^
United's SFO International First Class Lounge
The LL at the lounge welcomed me and asked me for my BP and *G card which I happily gave to her. She told me once more that SKL will be open at21:45 and that the F lounge will close at 22:00. Once all the works were finished, I went down with the elevator and it was quiet down there.. and gorgeous!
So as I went through to almost the very end of the room, there were two united 744s standing by to lift off outside the windows and two other people inside the lounge.
Now foodwise, I didn't really know what to expect when Kawoh told me of no 'hot' food in the RCC; this was also true for the Int'l F lounge. However, their food selections were impressive to say the least..
There were seafood quesadillas, a few sushi varieties, cold meats, cheeses, shrimp co**tails, cold vegetable selections, beers, wines, spirits, etc.
I was quite hungry at the time since I didn't have too much time for lunch earlier on, and decided for a few quick nibs:
So, it was 21:40 and I decided to just go towards the SKL.. Big Mistake! The Int'l F was much nicer than SKL
And so, I went back up towards the RCC and took a right turn to SKL. I thought at first its going to be much better than the F lounge. However when I entered, there was a LL waiting for me and directed me towards the left hand side of the lounge denoting a big "First Class" by the doors..
The lounge itself was very small, the food selections were not too varied, and so does the 'other' things.
It was a huge disappointment on my part and had wished I could stay for a few minutes longer in the F lounge.. To put it into perspective:
The only thing that soothes me a bit was when I went in to take a shower. The LL immediately picked me some towels and asked me if I require a shaver or anything else. I said no, and here's a few pic of the shower room. It is practically one very big bathroom:
The only thing missing from the shower was the actual labeling on the soap/shampoo/conditioner dispenser.. I didn't know which ones I actually used, but it was indeed a good shower.
The next part will be SQ's First Class onboard the 77W. Stay tuned! :D
This is an excellent. trip report.. I agree with you about the UA lounge.. It is quite good IMHO

My sincere apologies for not continuing to update this and my most sincere apologies for not able to continue the report anytime soon. As of now, I'm basically stuck with a broken laptop and won't get anything in and out at a regular rate until I get a new one. After sometime checking the internet and went on to do some stuff since the lounge is pretty lame, it was finally time to board the aircraft. So I strolled down to gate 91 where the aircraft had been waiting, flipped open my wallet and produced my BP to the ground staff and proceeded towards the aircraft.
Onboard, the crew (as always) greeted me warmly and using my last name, and so we wait for the other pax to come onboard. Beside me was an elderly couple who seems to be an important person in SIN, and there were two other crew members taking the seat.
I was seated at 1F, while the elderly couple was in 1C, and 1D.
Here you can see the seat number located on the side of the seat

The pre-departure drinks was served almost immediately and the towel (just disposable ones.. I was curious until I realized the Swine Flu Pandemic) was also served. On this flight my selection was Krug, and my very first.. I must say, it's different..
A glass of Krug, though I'm happy with just one during pre-flight

The plane was on schedule and as soon as everyone boarded, we took off (and also on time as usual). Of course, let's talk about the seats..
SQ's New F
Width: 35 in
Length: 71 in
Flat Bed: Yes
The seat is remarkable to say the least, although the seat itself I might add is just a glorified version of the C seat. Seating was the same while I was expecting a bit more comfort, although the width is a plus.. The length was adequate although when sleeping my feet is still not able to stretch to full length.. The bed is not as full as the ones on CX's new F cabin, and as I said, its almost the same as the C seat minus the hump.. Yet, it gave me a comfortable feeling and I slept soundly..
Seat functions are the same as the C seat, no massage functions or anything whatsoever, while the AVOD is great as usual with its many options, the 23 inch is a big plus too. However the one thing I find unusual is the lack of overhead space and is replaced by the one below the LCD screen which IMO is limiting my leg space by 30%..
For privacy, I'd say its adequate although I don't really feel being in private.. Maybe the Suites I'll give a 10, but it's adequate for my taste. And being a very large F seat, it feels spacious and nice to have that big cushion feeling after being cramped so long in C or Y. Overall, the seat is nice and big!
This is seat 1D, where an elderly gentleman sits.. I'm next to him in 1F

Pardon me for not being able to keep my promise, but here it is; one and a half months late.. :)
The main highlight of the flight was of course the food and the wide selections of wines and spirits and other liqueurs.. I assure you it was enough to relieve me of the shock from seeing the poorly equipped SFO SKL..
Henceforth, the flight details are described above, and below are some things for the eyes to read and savor:
[Menu From The Flight]
Supper from San Francisco to Hong Kong
Appetisers
Gooseliver with sliced fennel and mesclun
Oven-bakes warm oyster with tomato salsa and coriander cheese sauce in half shell
Soups
Consomme of oxtail with barley, vegetable confetti and dry sherry
Main Courses
Grilled sirloin in red wine sauce, braised red cabbage, baby carrot, kenyan bean and yukon gold-blue cheese potatoes
Exclusively created by Alfred Portale of Gotham Bar & Grill, New York
Fish Congee
Sliced fish fillet in rice porridge with Chinese cruellers
Linguine pasta tossed with chicken in tomato sauce
Prawn dumpling noodle soup
Egg noodles in rich broth garnished with prawn dumplings and leafy greens (also available for breakfast)
Desserts
Warm seasonal berries gratin
Cheeses
Cambozola, brie, boursin and smoked cheeses served with fruit paste, grapes, nuts and crackers
Fruits
Fresh fruits in season
Finale
A selection of gourmet coffees & fine teas
The menu was quite impressive for someone who never once flown F before, although most of it were identical with C menus. What I chose from the menu was the Gooseliver for appetiser, and my BTC order of Lobster Thermidor.. These were accompanied by toasts of different kinds and fruits in the end. All in all, the service was excellent as one can expect from SQ.
This is the Foei Gras or Gooseliver with sliced fennel and mesclun

Some of the bread selections, there were danish, french and couple other fine pastry selections

The meal ended with some fresh fruit and the gratin (although my apologies for I forgot to take a photo of the gratin), followed by a cup of peppermint tea
http://photos-g.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs106.snc1/4784_233100845312_770765312_7339790_989814_n.jpg
A bit of a review about the food:
The pastries were delicious and a delight, and made me wonder why in C the pastries are cold.. Or is it because of the plane? This was the first time I sat in F onboard the 77W and previously I always fly in C with their A345 fleet.. I wonder...
The Lobster was excellent although the roasted tomatoes and saffron rice is tasteless.. the rice itself is a bit tough when I eat it..
But it might be just me..
For the wine and fine liquor connoisseurs, here are the list:
[Champagnes and Wines]
Champagnes
Dom Perignon 2000
Named after the monk in charge of the cellars at the Abbey of Hautvillers at the end of the 17th century who is credited for having "invented" Champagne, Cuvee Dom Perignon has an almost mystical reputation. According to the brilliant winemaker-in-chief Richard Geoffroy, quality is based on harmony, a perfect bland of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes where nothing is lost and everything comes together. The 2000 vintage shows the proof of this to perfection.
Krug Grande Cuvee
Founded in Reims in 1843, the House of Krug is now managed by the 5th and 6th generations of the Krug Family. Rigorous selection and care go into every detail of the "multi-vintage" Grande Cuvee which offers a magical combination of aromatic complexity, power and finesse with a long, lingering finish. Krug is the ultimate experience in champagne.
White Wines
Cloudy Bay Savignon Blanc 2007 Marlborough, New Zealand
Cloudy Bay is the definitive New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Since its first vintage in 1986, Cloudy Bay has excited wine drinkers the world over with its racy freshness and zingy flavours. Made by winemaker Kevin Judd, this wine well deserves its cult status. Sauvignon Blanc is New Zealand's most successful and distinctive wine style and has almost single-handedly established "the land of the long white could" on the international wine stage.
Sonoma Cutrer Chardonnay 2005 Russian River, California
Founded as a vineyard company in 1973, Sonoma Cutrer was one of the first wineries in California to seach out key vineyard sites along the Sonoma Coast. From the beginning, the winery has focused exclusively on chardonnay. The Sonoma Cutrer style -very much in evidence in this wine- is elegant and rich at the same time. Sonoma Cutrer's "Russian River Ranches" chardonnays have opulent pear and vanilla flavours, framed by a touch of minerality. As such, they are among the most popular of the top chardonnays in California.
OR
Clos Du Bois Calcaire Chardonnay 2006 Russian River Valley
Cooled by Pacific fog, the Russian River Valley extended growing season makes it one of the world's ideal terroirs for nurturing extraordinary Chardonnay. The 2006 vintage experienced the longes growing season of the decade, allowing the development of exceptional fruit character and flavours. Well-endowed with ripe fruit but still a bit coarse. Aromas of light toasty, buttery oak surrounded by green apple and pear flavours. Will become complex on the finish.
Red Wines
Chateau Leoville-Poyferre 2001 Saint-Julien
This spendid 80 hectare estate, named a 2nd Growth in the famous 1855 Classification, has been owned by the Cuvelier family snce 1920. Didier Cuvelier had raised quality to the highest levels, producing a superb expression of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes planted on some of the finest soils of the Haut-Medoc. Deep in colour, it is rich and in plumy black fruits, with opulence and complexity on the palate and a classically firm finish. The vintage 2001 was rated by many critics as equal to the more famous 2000 in quality and is now beginning to show its true promise.
Dry Creek Cabernet Sauvignon 2005 Dry Creek Valley, California
Established in 1972, Dry Creek Vineyards in the pastoral, sun-drenched Dry Creek Vallet was the first post-Prohibition winery in this corner of northern Sonoma County. As such, Dry Creek Vineyards led the revival of what is today one of the most respected appelations within the country. Red wines from this small warm region possess concentrated fruit flavours and powerful structures. Dry Creek Vineyards' 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon, for example, has bold aromas and flavours of cassis, spice, cedar, vanilla, and espresso. It is broad and sturdy on the palate, making it for a satisfying, mouthfilling cabernet.
Port
Dow's 20 Year Old Tawny Port, Portugal
Dow possess some of the finest vineyards in the upper Douro and is one of the oldest names in the history of Port, dating back to 1798. The beautifully balanced Tawny Port is carefully matured over 20 years in wooden barrels known as "pipes" before being bottled. Light tawny in colour, showing mature raisiny fruit aromas with hints of honey. It is rich and nutty on the palate, with a wonderful balance, a clean crisp finish and a soft lingering aftertaste.
