Air New Zealand Air Points - Connecting from international C to domestic Y on NZ: baggage allowance?

I have searched this forum and NZ's website, but couldn't find the answer. I hope you can help me with this question:

This weekend, we will be flying to ZQN from Europe, the whole trip is in business class with the exception of the last outbound leg CHC-ZQN which is economy. The ticket is issued by Lufthansa. We have no *A status.

We will be arriving in CHC on SQ business class and have a 23 hours layover before flying to ZQN on NZ economy class (no business class on this flight).

If we chose to pick up our luggage in CHC on arrival and check it in again for the domestic flight, are we gonna have the same baggage allowance (1x30kg & 2 pieces of hand luggage) or are we likely gonna run into problems at check-in?

The passenger receipt shows "Baggage Allowance: 30K" for all legs, including the economy leg CHC-ZQN. But to put my mind at ease, I was hoping you could share your experience on this.

Looking forward to visiting beautiful New Zealand again! :)

It's all one ticket so the higher business class allowance applies to all flights. If not flying via North America the allowance is 30kgs (summed up over as many pieces as you like), or if flying via North America the allowance is 3 pieces. Note if you are *G and not flying via North America then you have an additional 20kgs.

Thanks for your quick reply - so the "higher business class allowance" includes 2 pieces of hand luggage as well?

Im not to sure ab out this for Domstic, i think it maybe for *G only. Are you going on a ATR or 733 to ZQN, both have very limited overhead locker space. With the ATR haven fair less space, you may get asked to put a bag in the hold if the flight is fill.

It's an ATR72-200 and the flight is about 75% full if the seatmap on expertflyer is an indicator.

*G is allowed 2 pieces. Pax connecting to/from business class flights (except US flights) also allowed 2 pieces per *A policy (note the NZ website wrongly implies this is airline specific benefit).

The third piece is a *G benefit.
