Hertz - # 1 Gold Activation Question

I am a new #1 Gold member, I understand that my DL and Credit Card need to be confirmed at the time of my first rental. But, can I just stop by a local Hertz location near my home PRIOR to my first rental to process the confirmations so that when I do rent for the first time (at an airport), my name will be in lights and the pick-up will be quick and easy with no line to wait in?

No, unfortunately it can only be done during the first rental. But don't worry, it's all good after that!

You could always do a cheap 1 day weekend rental at your local HLE before you get going to have your first rental be done on your terms...

That's what I did, and it was $30 well spent. I rent cars as I don't own one anyways, but even if you do have a car at home, you pay $30 or so to have Gold service for life and put miles on a car that you don't have to maintain.

I made my first rental and my account is still not confirmed to skip the counter?

Usually it takes 1 but sometimes it can take 2 or 3.

Was the reservation that is not confirming your Gold status booked before completing your first rental? If it was booked before your first rental then you probably need to re-book it. I don't think existing reservations will re-check your status if it changes.

No it was not.

I made my Hertz account and used my personal credit card as the one on file. I then made all my rentals using the corporate card. Because the cards didn't match my account didn't get confirmed, took a few phone calls to Hertz to get this worked out.

It auto-changed for me after my first rental with gold.
