Unfortunately for anyone reading this after my post, please be aware the deal has been well-publicised and rooms are booked out.

Try to get a room, using the main link page and report your results. There are other resources on the web, if you do a search, but I can report that I tried to book for Adelaide last night and all rooms are sold out.

If you have already booked with this deal, it would be good to see your report. :)

I've not used lastminute.com before though have made great use of Priceline over the last few years with the help of the betterbidding site. I can find a 4* room in Sydney at about 1/2 of the Novotel special (all in at 105 AUD). For just a quick 2 nights, 1 person trip it seems like an easy decision. Any pitfalls? Is there a site that notes previous finds at lastminute.com? Are there particularly bad hotels in Sydney using lastminute.com?

Opted for the secret hotel at $105 AUD and got the Holiday Inn at Potts Point. The price was about half of what I was looking at with the Novotel family hotels.
