I booked a ticket arriving at 9am from Franfurt in Nagoya on a Tuesday in July and departing just 90min later on a domestic flight to Wakkanai
It is my first visit to Japan and as a result, also the first experience with Nagoya Airport. Is this time feasible? I guess I have to clear customs and immigration and re-check my baggage (as to be done on the first point in US), right?

Assuming I miss the connection and I have to bee rebooked: Will this strictly be done on NH? The option from Nagoya to Wakkanai are very limited with only one direct flight and it would therefore help, if a connection through e.g. Sapporo could also involve a segment on JL?

And as side question: I'm traveling in C class but have only FTL status with Lufthansa and there is physically no biz on the flight to Wakkanai. Will I be granted access to any lounge (if time permits...) in Nagoya?

Thanks for your help!

90 minutes is enough for transfer at NGO. In fact, NGO is one of the few airports in Japan that boast its excellent INTL-Domestic connection. Since both international and domestic share the same terminal (just different sides), you don't have to walk far.

Even if you arrive from FRA slightly late, you will be taken care by a NH agent who will greet you at the gate of your LH flight and takes you through immigration and custom in a speedy fashion. So, there is no need for concern as NH agent will make sure all passengers with domestic connection get to their next flight before departure.

If your flight from FRA is delayed significantly, and you miss your connection to Wakkanai, NH will probably put you on a flight to Sapporo, where you can then connect to Wakkanai by another domestic flight or limited express train (in the worst case).

As I mentioned, Japanese agents will proactively monitor all arriving passengers with domestic connection at NGO, and if they believe your connection time is cutting too close, they will greet you when you arrive to make sure you can get to the next plane.

Regarding lounge, if you have time, you can visit the Star Alliance lounge (if you are a Star Alliance Gold), but you probably won't due to the time limit.

Good luck.
