Hi,
So I took advantage of the deal to Spain and was considering jumping a flight to Morocco for 2 days or so. Any ideas on what to see or what city to focus on? I am sure I will be back there but thought someone might have a good idea for a couple day trip!

Depends what you want. There are five place's I recommend. Fez, Marrakech, Casablanca, Essouria or the Atlas Mountains. The latter may be difficult to reach in two days, Essouria is by the sea and supposed to be nice. Marrakech is very touristy but also a must see. You ought to stay within the Medina in an old Riad (I recommend Lotus Riads). Casablanca is quite dirty but have a very nice mosque. Never seen Fez but some friends liked it.

with only two days, you'll probably have to pick a spot. i would highly recommend either fes or marrakech. marrakech is supposedly the "it" spot in morocco...but i would take fes over marrakech any day. both would be a good experience, but i have encountered few things that are better than staying in a riad in the medina.
casablanca isn't worth it.

I have a question that is along the same lines as OP.
I will be traveling along the Spain/Port Coastline and was thinking of using my timeshare for a few nights in Morocco (Timeshare is RCI in Casablanca).
I am a season traveler (Throughout Central/South America/Zim/Zam/Bots-Africa)
How much effort is it to rent cars and travel from the port of Tangiers to Casablanca and to cross to Spain (with or without a vechicle?)
Is all this worth the effort?

Careful if you are taking the ferry and you are on a schedule. The ferry is often canceled at the slightest bit of weather. They are overly careful in my opinion, but they of course don't want a ferry with hundreds of Europeans on board to capsize. I got stuck an extra day in Tangier on my way back to Spain due to weather.
But if you have the time, it is definitely worth it. Morocco is a beautiful country and each part is worth visiting. As for Casablanca, I know a lot of tourists avoid it, but I go there for business and have learned that it's a pretty interesting town.

What I really would like to do is fly into Casablanca since I can stay three full days at my time share.
Then travel toward Gibraltar, cross th passage to Spain and work my way along the coast to Lisbon, Spain.
I need to figure out a few things:
#1 Rental car in Morocco and possibly over to Spain
#2 Should I plan to overnight at the straight Gibralter? (Is it worth it/enough to see?)
#3 Ferry schedule (and cost)
#4 Transportation once in Spain (assuming I cannot take a car over and drop it at a rental location in Spain/Portugal)
Your thoughts?

I haven't rented in Morocco, but I seriously doubt the Spanish customs guys would let a Moroccan rental car into Spain. But why not just call the local Avis or Hertz in Morocco to find out?
I never went to Gibraltar because someone in our party didn't have a UK visa.
You can google the different ferry companies to see their prices and schedules. But like I said, weather can change the schedule and it often does.
Also note that Morocco has a pretty nice train system between the cities. Spain has a nice one too, but I don't think it goes down to where the ferries dock. So you would need to rent a car upon arrival in Spain.

+1 on the trains.
i have spent a good bit of time in morocco and never once rented a car. getting around is pretty easy between the cities. weather issues aside, ferries are likewise easy. another alternative is to catch the easyjet flight from madrid.
if you can trade your timeshare for one in a different moroccan city, you'll be glad (i'll stop with my anti-casablanca tips now).

I am also flying down to Malaga with my wife and then moving onto Morocco for 4 nights. We plan to take the ferry from Tarifa to Tangiers.
Now I need advice on what to do next. I have been to Tangiers before once for a day trip. But it rained heavily that day and I didn't see much other than the covered markets. But it seems that other cities have more to offer.
Reading on this forum it seems the options are to go to Fez or take an overnight train to Marrakech.
Does anyone know the cost of the overnight train? With couchette?
Can anyone recommend reasonable ~€50 range hotels in Tangiers and Fez, Marrakech or any other places recommended.
We leave in early Novemeber so we have some time to plan.
BTW what is the weather like in November?
Any advice and experiences will be appreciated.
It will probably be chilly and wet in November. When we got stuck with the ferry not running, we stayed at the Ibis http://www.accorhotels.com/gb/hotel-3363-ibis-moussafir-tanger/index.shtml which was nice and clean and not too expensive. It's near a shopping center, but you would need a car or taxi to get there from the port.
I don't think there is much to see in Tanger. The sights would probably take a half a day. The port area isn't very nice. Kinda like the TJ side of the Tijuana crossing to the US.
I would ask Google for the train schedule and costs.

An alternative to the ferry would be to take the helicopter from Malaga to Ceuta, and then a long-distance taxi from the Morocco side of the border to wherever you are going next.
