I will have some time on my hands at ARN prior to a mid morning SAS flight to LHR; do frequent travellers have any recommendations as to eating spots, etc? I also am a Star Alliance Gold member so I think I can use one of the Lounges if needed, again any pointers appreciated, thanks.

Sky City is a nice place to go plane watching.

I'm going to have three or four days in Stockholm after hiking the Kingsladen in August. Any suggestions? I'll be staying in a hostel, museums, outdoor stuff is great, just not a party animal/clubber.
How about the ferry to Helsinki? Worth it for the scenery? Any other suggestions?

The ferry is nice, but going to Helsinki and back would eat up two days of your limited time, and there's not much to do in the evenings unless you have company or plan to get plastered with the intention of finding some.
You might want to consider Turku (http://wikitravel.org/en/Turku) instead: it's closer (can be reached on a day cruise), more historical and more compact than Helsinki, and it's basically archipelago all the way across the Baltic.

I agree! Have taken this route several times and it is very scenic. If you board in Stockholm, make sure you get a dinner reservation ASAP and try to get a table by the big picture window at the stern of the ship.

Thanks, guys! I was more interested in the archipelago scenery than spending time in Helsinki anyway, so this sounds like a great option.
