I am thinking of leaving Zurich because I dont see anything cheap or reasonable, even the transit is 4 CHF which with the USD exchange rate is almost 4 dollars. Yea I know I can get a 24h ticket for 8 CHF but this is lots more than the Paris Metro. Also, I head that the art museum is free on Wed. and I found Aldi but otherwise this place is way more expensive than Paris, Germany etc....

What else is avail or where should I look for cheap stuff?

Any all u can eat Indian buffets? Do the Swiss give anything away?:)

NOTHING cheap in Zürich.

Only free thing: sitting at the lake and walking through the beautiful city.

Migros is a supermarket chain with high quality products at a reasonable price.

Thanks! I found the Aldi:)
Which is still expensive compaired to France, Germany esp Milk.

Any resturant recommendations, compaired to Paris the Relais Dessert bakery is not that expensive and is actually pretty good. Its Baumann on Balgriststrasse 2

hii im going to Zurich at the end of august just to spend 2 days..well can somebody tell me what i can do for those two days to explore zurich? I mean, my stay is very short and i know theres so much to see!!! so i would prefer to see the things that are most interesting :D

And i live in Paris, so how are the things priced over there when compared to Paris? for eg clothes, food items etc..cn i find LIDL everywhere like here in france? if not what are the other cheaper places? and about transport, for one single trip within zurich how much does it cost for the sub way? and if i take one day ticket, how much would that be?

would love to get a detailed reply from someone who knows, thanks!

I came here from Paris, what can I tell u
Bring most of ure food from Paris-its cheaper and better (however zurich food is better than german food)
2 days public transit buy a round trip ticket for 8CHF it is good for 24 hrs, staying longer avoid public transit.
if u are here on a Wed the kunshaus art musee is free, as is the audio guide. nice museum but according to the snotty stuckup guide in english they have the "best example of picssso pink period, of monet's watercolors, of ..... blab.... best example of this and that.
There is Aldi here in city but unlike Aldi in surrounding lake zurich towns or france it has no good prepaired food and is way overpriced, avoid all supermarkets in Swiss as anycost including milgros and coop (both overpriced dont believe the hype from the locals they have lost contact with reality) however they do have reasonably good food. Yet u will find transfat products in markets, unlike most hyper markets or supermarket of france.
otherwise just walk around, its still free other than that there is not much to do anyways in Zurich
just my experience
