Sorry for this question, but I am just home from the pub and my normally good search skills are failing me.....

Is EY a "dry" carrier? Considering booking SYD-AUH under the QF code, and QF is definitely NOT "dry".

I drink a fair bit on board, it helps me to sleep, but never excessively, and I don't cause problems.

Will I have problems on a flight such as this?

I dave,
I just got off one of their plane.. AUH-BRU and I can assure you that they are not "dry"... I dont know which class you will be flying in but in Business they had a really good selection wine...
Enjoy... it was my first experience with Etihad... but definitly not the last !!

Thanks for that - looks like I will sleep well! :D

Only reason I asked was that those Aussies who got into trouble a few years back were apparently charged with drinking alcohol aboard an EY flight without a liquor permit (according to wikipedia - so I know I need to take it with a tonne of salt).

I flew AUH-LHR in their version of first a short while ago, had shed loads of booze from loounge to arrival - felt rough for my connecting flight - a big Thanks to Louise, FA from Devon - she loved supplying it almost as much as I loved driniking it!

Yes they sure do - although sometimes the FAs can be a little bit forgetful when you order a top-up. A couple of posts are on this thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/other-middle-east-africa-frequent-flyer-programs/926844-liquor-etihad-airways.html)
