Hi all,

First time poster in the JetBlue forum. I booked my daughter (10 yrs old) in April on a flight from SEA to LGB in June. Part of the reason I did this was because JetBlue was charging $50 per way for Unaccompanied Minors for all bookings before May 1st (or at least that's what I believe I clearly remember).

Of course, I screwed up and waited until today to call in and actually confirm the Unaccompanied Minor service. They are wanting to charge me $75 and the customer rep I spoke with says it's been $75 each way for over a year.

Any chance anyone on this forum knows whether there was a switch from $50 to $75 in May of this year? The reason I feel so sure about it is because I did this extensive pricing analysis comparing JetBlue and Alaska and it all came down to the Unaccompanied Minor fee (and it's $75 for Alaska).

Thanks!

I looked around online and I see two articles that reference a $50 minor fee from July 2008.

http://consumerist.com/tag/jetblue/?i=5022378&t=jetblue-cant-decide-if-they-charged-an-unaccompanied-minor-fee

I guess my question now is... what's the best shot I have at getting this fee adjusted from $75 to $50 since I booked the ticket before the fee was switched (though I still don't have "proof" of the day of switch)?

I feel pretty confident that if I talk to another CSR, I'll get the same story. And I'm not sure that escalating to a supervisor will help. Will it?

Thanks again.

Alright, forget it. Talked to a supervisor who said the date change was May 1, 2008. Said they kept doing bookings into April 2009 with the pop-up box still saying it was $50 before May 1, 2008. She said they have had several phone calls about this and finally updated the box. But anyway, paid my $75 each way.
